• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vertika Trykes Canada

just got off the phone with gerry from vertika trykes and i was talking to him about the heat on the 13 rt/s and what can be done, i asked if the full boards they have would cover the hole by my foot for the heat. he said he is waiting for a 2014 bike to come in so they can make the boards fit up to and including the 14's. he is aware of the problems with the bike and he suggested part # CART-CFBP-250-PR at 595.00 Canadian and # CART-TV-350-PR at 595.00 Canadian for the bike. he said it cuts off all the heat coming from the bike and the scoops drive air straight into the engine compartment and said it brings down the heat level by at least 2 bars on the gauge.

being the value of the bike has dropped so much it is worth money wise to keep it and put a few bucks into it to stop the problem i have. so gerry is working me up a price for painting them and shipping them to me, so i think this is the way i am going. their web site with the parts is http://www.vertikatrykescanada.com/boutique.shtml?cat=SPYDER RT-RTS parts not painted and the parts are the first two on the page. click on the picture to enlarge them

John,
Could you do us a favor and share with us the results of your experiment, once you get those installed?
Thanks,

i just called gerry at vertika trykes again and he can't believe i can get paint so he said to give him a fer days and he will call a dealer he deals with to see if they can give a part off a yellow bike so he can scan it and come up with a color to match. and when i spoke to my dealer about the paint i asked about the heat recall and still no parts yet. by the way i know gerry is trying to sell parts but he did say that the gauge will drop by two bars on the heat

The HEAT is BRP's Issue

Why should you or I have to pay, after market, for HEAT fixes?? This is design issue that BRP should fix without cost.:spyder:

BRP continues to tell me that there is NO HEAT issues even though it has been to the dealer several times with MELTED parts. :banghead:

Just my two cents worth. :doorag:

Why would you say that? BRP has admitted the problem exists, and has issued a recall to address it. John is just looking for MORE air movement to help with the issue of heat causing him discomfort...

i would love to off this bike and get a new one. but no one wants to buy the 13's or take them as a trade w/o taking a beating, so i do like the bike enough to keep it but due to a foot problem and the heat on it i have to spend a few bucks to get a bike that i will enjoy riding more than once or twice a week. so it is worth the money to do it.

It took me a while to find the thread that had that link; we talk about painting our bikes an AWFUL lot! :D

paint

yea i found the site b4 and sent it to them he was also telling me a guy with a bike went up to them to have the floor bards installed and the guy rode a few hrs to get there, when they were inside talking people came in and said there was a bike on fire outside and they watched it burn down to the frame, i forget what it was but not a rt

John:

I would be careful with Vertika. We purchased vents to add to my wife's 2010 RT back in the early part of 2010 that the folks at Vertika told us would solve the heat problems on the right side. We paid for them, had them painted to match the (then) Orbital blue and installed them.

They looked great but did nothing to control heat. The theory is that the force of the incoming air pushes the hot air out but all they did was increase the hot air flow onto her right side. Also, unless the Spyder was moving nothing at all happened as no air was moving through them.
