• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vehicle control module?

Bummer..!!

Recently saw some posts about a vcm but don't know if thats the problem. Have not been here that long but in that time have not seen or heard of any going bad. Don't know your problem but be sure they are diagnosing right. Possibly a second opinion...:dontknow:

Thanks Chupaca, dealer hooked up to computer because the faults won't clear, ebd fault-abs fault and park brake light stays on :(

Doesn't sound like the VCM unit. Looks like an electrical problem with switches and or sending units. While on buds he can clear codes and test ryde to see if any return after checking the reporting points...switches wires or sensors...

Get brand and model #

Most entry level service techs get too hung up on what their diagnostics say and never really check to see if a sensor is simply doing it's job. That is most often why the faults won't clear. I believe there might be an after market possibility? Check the brand name, model number and google it. Might just be able to get a used one on e-bay? If the diagnostic is correct, you are talking a simple unplugging and plugging in a new one. I would not pay dealer mark up and shop time. Most other brand modules run in the $500 to $800 range. Has to be a cheaper way to get what you need. Should be in an easy access place and will be held by a single screw or in a rubber pocket.
Good luck

Upon their suggestion when it first faulted we bought a new battery because they said it was causing the faults as it was old. To my knowledge they did not check anything, only hooked it up to clear codes, as soon as they started it, it faulted again so they put battery back on charge. Cleared codes again and when started it faulted again. The dealer is the only local one I have and its 2 hours away. Mechanic kept saying I don't know what's wrong with it

think I would find real mechanic.. evidently he is not a mechanic

If it keeps sending a fault code, it may well be the VCM. But a thorough check of the affected sensors is in order. Where are you located in Virginia? If you are close enough to North Carolina, check with Brewer Cycles in Henderson, NC. They are a sponsor here.

I had a heated talk with a tech some years ago about an issue on my service truck. He kept repeating what the "computer" told him. I knew different. I told him to pull his head out of the computer and his a** and "listen" to the engine. His reply was that he was a factory trained tech and this is what he was taught in school. I went to the shop manager and requested another tech. The other guy came over, looked at the computer read out, cranked up the truck, took it out came back and told the other tech what he needed to do. Which was pretty much the same thing I told him. Sometimes a good ear and experience work better than the computer.

I had the same EBD Brake fault issue on my new F3S the day they assembled it. They asked me to ride it as it was off at delivery but they said if it comes back on let us know. Sure enough, they replaced two sensors a week later and fixed it. Now I'm getting a Limp Home Mode scrolling on the dash that is very intermittent but dangerous! Dealer is on the phone with CanAm as I type this to correct. Good luck but check the sensors for brake fluid first!

Hi Dmatney73,
I just wanted to check on you and see if you got your problem resolved. If not, feel free to give us a call. Ask for Brian or Zach, in the Service Dept, and maybe they could offer some help that you could use in your neck of the woods. ;)

Take Care!

No she is still down, they came down to $1400.00 for the part, still way outta reach for me. I feel as though it needs to be checked over before saying it's the part.
