vcm problem

hi in my rss se5 2015 must replace vcm
i bought used with the same numbers but from rs

after replace have

c1200 valve relay fault ( i check relays, fuses and + - all is ok)
c1281 variant codding


i have buds 3.8 with megatech lic and can't make vcm reset

anyone know procedure for reseting vcm

How did you check the relays? Did you remove and test each one to make sure they switch? A bad relay could have been the problem all along. The VCM is VERY robust and failures are very rare.

The C1281 Variant Coding fault -

In the SETTINGS module on BUDS, on the VCM page, what does it say the Learned Vehicle Variant is? Should say same as your spyder

On SETTINGS module, go to VEHICLE CONFIGURATIONS page and change the variant to match your spyder. Remember, you must WRITE document for it to save to your bike and take affect.

Your bike is an SE 5 bike: could the vCM you bought have come out of an SM 5 model?
