• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vacum hose ID

Jeriatric

Thinks out loud
Nearing time for the 14K service and want to order silicone replacement hose. Anyone have ID measurement?

Have searched and :read: a lot. Even Aprilia stuff and nothing. Could the inside diameter of this hose be
"Top Secret"? :chat: :dontknow:

Let's see..!!

vaccum lines to throttle body are 3mm id 7mm od...I did see were the lengths should be the same as factory if you change them...:dontknow:

Would someone tell me why the silicone Vacuum hose swap? I am wondering what the benefits to this are & whether or not I should be considering this.

Thanks in advance...

Heat resistance = hose life.
:agree: And I plan on swapping during my next oil change. Silicon hoses last many times longer than rubber:thumbup: I have already read about 1 and 2yr old bikes having brittle cracked MAP hoses and that will cause trouble. I would call my change "preventive" maintenance .

I have checked those 2 hoses many times when I had my RT opened up, but always just wiggled them a little and they seemed fine.

Today, when I checked them, I pulled slightly on one and was shocked that the end on the throttle body was so loose it came off easily in my hand... it looked like the hose end had expanded and no longer fit tight.

My RT just turned 12,000mi and I am replacing both hoses now with rubber but will change them to silicone hoses when I get some.

I sure advise checking these closely when you have a chance!
