• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

VA Spyder Ryders going to Lamonster's BBQ

Not from Virginia...but we will be visiting friends in Tazwell/Bastian, Va for a few days...then we'll head to Lamont's for the BBQ on thursday...

I'm a definite maybe. I really want to go but life has a habit of interfering. It would be great to ryde with a group. Keep me informed.

Since this will be my first Lamonster's BBQ I think I'd like to attend all three days culminating with the BBQ on Saturday. Haven't decided to make it a one day ryde or break it into two days. My longest ryde so far has only been 175 miles so the 400+ miles to Greeneville TN may be a bit much for a one day ryde, but think it is doable with rest stops in between gas stops. I think it would be fun to get as many Virginia Spyder Lovers together to ryde as a group and I'd be willing to go along with the consensus as to making it a one day or a two day ryde.

I'll not be ryding back with the group. My sister lives in South Pittsburtg TN about 200 miles from Greeneville so my plan is to ryde over to visit her starting on Sunday, 9 Sept. Send me a PM if you want to chat more about this.

Where is the BBQ exactly? Where are we gonna meet to start the ride? I am a definately maybe myself.

Thanks from a NEW Spyder OWNER!!!

Lamonster's BBQ

Prime,

Lamonster's BBQ will be held at Lamont's place in or close to Greeneville TN. Send me a PM (private message) to discuss travel plans.

I wanna go  but I'm not sure if I can fit it in with everything else we have going on. If I do go it will be a last minute decision.

It looks to be about a 7 hour trip from Northern VA. :trike:

DR Buck,

You might want to make hotel reservations in Greeneville TN in case you decide to go at the last minute. The Jameson Inn is booked the last time I checked their website but I'm sure there are other hotels in the area that allow cancellation up to the day of check in.

It's about 7 hours or so from Hampton Roads as well. Not sure yet if I'll go I64 to I81 or I58 to I77 to I81. I think I'd rather go the I58 route...probably a little longer time wise but I think that way would make for a more enjoyable ryde than going interstate all the way (exciting :yikes:but boring...if you know what I mean ).

Hope you can make it! It would be good to have a a bunch of Spyder Lovers from the state for lovers (Virginia) at Lamonster's BBQ.

We are considering going but would probably incorporate it into a Blue Ridge Parkway vacation. We would go in our RV. Anyone else planning to attend with an RV? Would be great to be at the same campground.
