• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just added my new backrest and I am very happy with it. The quality is great and it is very comfortable. Fully adjustable, optional pouch and cover for the bar. Utopia has great customer service too.

I had one on my Victory Vision, and now one on my Spyder RT. Excellent product, and Bob's customer service is top notch.

Any tips/pointers on installation appreciated - any modification to front or back oem seat required?? Didn't see installation instructions specifically for the F3 on their website.

They may not have one ( the necessary bracket ) for the F-3 yet..............I have installed a couple of them on different Spyders. None of them were made specifically for that Spyder......It seems that the upper part of the backrests are all the same ( maybe has a different style cover ) , It's the part that actually attaches to the seat PAN this is SPECIFIC to your MAKE,......I would call them direct, because the web site may not have been up-dated..................Good luck it's a way better backrest than BRP's at a way better price..........Mike

The Utopia driver back support attaches to the passenger seat at a point that would not interfere with the passenger. The bracket is specific to the F3 and they do an excellent matching the pattern and thread of the OEM seat. $225.00 is a lot mor affordable than BRP. You can also adjust the height of the back support for the best possible comfort position.

How does this backrest attach to the spyder? I can't seem to find any pictures or instructions that show that....

It comes with a bracket that bolts to 4 existing holes under the seat and protudes through the seat. The backrest has a flat metal post that attaches to that bracket with a long bolt. Very easy installation, took me about 20 minutes.

I have the BRP Backrest and would not trade it for any other, but i will say that the Utopia is a first class Backrest and you will be happy with it.

For the F3, it attaches to the TOP of the back seat. You take off the cover, and the padding and bolt it onto the top of the back seat, and then put everything back together. We got an electric stapler to re-attach the seat cover and it didn't do a good enough job of going through the hard plastic seat, so we took it to an auto upholstery place for them to re-staple and they did it for $20 -- which ended up being less than the electric stapler.

BTW, I was worried that a passenger (if there ever is one) would feel the bracket when sitting on the back seat, but after testing it out several times in the garage, we both decided that the passenger would never feel it.
