There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. USB PORT F3 Limited

I'm getting virtually zero charging to my cell phone plugged into the USB port. Had the Galaxy S7 hooked up to the usb port going down the road for about two hours and with the phone completely off only got 12% increase in the battery. Dealer has no idea why and can't call BRP. With the Cell plugged into my car USB it will completely charge the battery in the same amount of time.
Is the USB supposed to have enough juice to charge or is it only a data connection? Help

buy a zerolemon battery www.zerolemon.com mine lasts 4-5 days aand has about 12% left. USB will also not work with a Garmin GPS

I have an F3T that I had the dealer put the top box on at purchase. They never plugged the USB PORT in. Take the back seat off and you can see the plug in. If not the wiring harness is tucked onto a clip somewhere under the back seat. Mine was on the left. Has a nice boot.
If all this is the case you will only get power to it when the bike is running.

2016.

From your picture it looks like you have a 2016 F3 L. I use my iPhone and it connects and charges perfectly. Try switching out your cable to see if that is the issue.

Same Problem 2016 F3 Limited

My dash screen shows issues with my Droid Phone and almost zero charging. I was told by the dealer it is looking for an apple phone for complete communication?? I added a separate USB port to the left side of my key area. If you take off the left cover there is a switched, fused and capped 12 volt source. It's a two wire pack that is taped tightly to the wire harness. The picture in the manual shows it higher than I found my accessory wires.

how did you you mount the USB port by the key area?
By the way, I have changed the cables to the phone and the bike was on and not charging but the phone did show it was connected

The frame is underneath and I raised it a bit. Drill the hole tight and it threads right in and is really firm. Rain proof with the cover closed.
I also got these really short BRAIDED BLACK Micro USB cables. Really cleans up the clutter.

I run google maps, Google Music with the phone on bright and I still gain a charge as I drive. That's how much output the sockets have.

Unclear how the charger screws into the panel...Is there a nut underneath the panel that is screws into? looks like you have the lock nut on top of the panel.

Uni bit and spare nut

When I used a uni-bit I stopped short of the hole size needed. It pushed in so firm it surprised me how solid it was as I screwed it in. Then I discovered it bottomed out on the frame below. I raised it to a height with the lock nut until I felt there was good clearance which also put the socket at a more usable height. I did have an extra plastic nut from a failed socket that got wet. But since it was so tight when I screwed it down, I didn't put it on. By making the hole small it threaded into the plastic. I didn't use the included electrical tabs. I soldered the wire on and shrink tube the ends. This allowed more clearance below. The uni drill bit I used was from harbor freight.

Thanks for your help

The factory USB port in the F3T glove box is mostly for data connection, not charging. Its limited to 500ma which is not enough to charge many phones or GPS units. You need to install an accessory charging port with a 2A USB port.

Thanks for that info...I think it is right on point and I am giving up on trying to figure out why the galaxy is not charging. I have also noticed when the Galaxy is connected to the USB the radio gets quirky so I think BRP has not designed it's electronics to be compatible with android
