• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi

I'm REALLY considering purchasing a used Spyder. However, i'm also considering buying a Boulevard.

The question I have is.. the spyder I'm looking at only had 1400 miles on it. It's a 2008. Asking 9500. Is this a GREAT deal? A deal I shouldnt pass up? If not, I might just buy the boulevard first and get a spyder next summer.

Please help. I have to decide by 12 noon tomorrow.

I now have 10 hours to decide.
 
I would get the Spyder mine is an 08 with 9000 +miles and i would not sell it for 10,000 just my opinion.

1400 miles is nothing. I've got an M109 and I love it! But it has been sitting in my basement ever since I got the Spyder.

Base your choice on what you want, not on which one is the 'Best Deal'. A great deal is only great if you like what you end up with.

Me, I'd go for the Spyder. But that isn't going to do you any good because you're you, and I'm not. :D

My father-in-law has a Boulevard M109 R2. He just rode my wife's Spyder for the first time yesterday, and said it is much smoother than his Boulevard. He is now wishing he bought a Spyder instead.

As others have stated, 1400 miles is barely even broken in, and the price is right as well.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.
 
Get the Spyder. If you dont like it and if you dont recoup your money back, just think of the loss like you rented it. :)

All i can say ,if the Spyder is running right, It's the best thing since they put shaving cream in a can, If it's it's not '':yikes:''

Let me answer your first question yes it is a good deal but have a dealer check it out first. as for which one to buy only you can answer that my friend. Buy what you like.
 
Great replies so far... How about... the Spyder is a Repo? It appears to be in new condition still... Just a lil dusty from the storage garage. I emailed BRP to see if the warranty is still valid, they have yet to respond!! That has been a week, and now I have 2 hours to decide before it hits the auction block. If I pay the 9500, its mine... no auction.

If you have the VIN, call a dealer and they should be able to tell you about it.
 
I would doubt that it is still under warranty. Call a local dealer as soon as they open and have them check for you. If the Spyder is still under warranty purchase a BEST warranty from one of our site sponsors. If not, check with a local dealer on some aftermarket ones.

The price seems right, but if it is a repo; I would be concerned that the maintenace may not have been performed and that it may need the updates applied.

If it goes to auction, it would not go for $9,500. You may have some room to negotiate down to $8,000 and really walk away with a great deal! :yikes:

Don't buy something before trying. As for being a repo, I don;t think it matters.

But again, it's what you want.

Always go through a repo with a fine tooth comb. Been in this business way too long. repo means no money. No money usually means maintenance (OIL CHANGES) are far down on that persons priorities and a couple have been skipped.

A large percentage of vehicles I see repo'd are way way way behind on their maintenance.

At 1400 miles no oil changes have been missed - just potentially the 600 mile - the machine is brand new at 1400 miles -

Seems like a great deal to me.
