• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

upon furthuer review, RT is a No Go

I wouldn't get the RT although I think they are cool looking - for me personally, they are too big cuz I am a midgit. I hope that BRP would make a middle version - something sporty like the GS but w/ a fairing and a stereo and not as big as the RT - then I'd think about it :D

My latest issue of "Rider" magazine had a road-test of a pre-production RT. After reading it...my opinion was Rider's testers were lukewarm about the RT, at best.:sour:

They were that way about the GS too...I think anyone on two wheels is going to have some reservations...but, that's fine...lukewarm is better than bad...I think when people get on one, many will want to buy one!

I had a chance to ride the dealer RT demo for a 100 plus mile ride, and it was a nice vehicle and was comfortable. It does have it's place. For me though, I still like my sport spyder better. It just has the fun factor that I didn't seem to have on the RT. The good news is BRP is making spyders that will appeal to different type of riders. I'll bet the R&D is working on a sporty tourer for the future, kind of like the Honda Gold wing vs Honda ST1300. Having an on the fly adjustable windscreen for the RS would be a nice feature. I did like that when I had my honda ST1300.

:agree: That is one thing I would really like to see as well.

I am running a f1 slider from Marcel for about 20,000 miles and it is adjustable on the fly. Mine goes up and down a dozen times on an average day. At speed. I can always seem to find a position that gives me the protection I want or to minimize noise and sometimes both. I modified mine so that I can get both maximum wind protection and minimum wind noise. But that is a personal thing and I am not sure that everyone could achieve this.

Like a lot of aftermarket parts, I have had to harden it and modify it to cover some design flaws but I still love it. This is what I use after putting $2,000 into other windshields that were just not suitable for use.(being a neophyte at this I thought that value followed cost but that is not the case.)

This is not an endorsement for F1 or Marcel as I know some have had problems with both. This is just my opinion on the windshield that I like best.

I have not seen the F1 on a Spyder yet, so have nothing to compare it against. I am currently running with the Givi, while my wife is using the CHAD. Hopefully I will start seeing more Spyders in the future and can see what others have done with theirs.

for myself, it will have to be F1 evo 3 slider. nothing else.:D

Those are 2 very strong referrals. I hope I can meet up with you all someday to see what you are so happy about.

I used to have one of them too and it was a very nice windshield. It didn't look too big on the Spyder and the adjustment was easy enough to do when you were riding (it's not recomended but you can do it). His adjustable windshield is simply a smaller windshield mounted behind the main windshield on two rails that tighten down with two large knobs. Just reach up, give each knob a turn or two; holding the last knob you loosened, raise or lower the shield; and tighten it back down. You can constantly tweak the windshield to give the wind protection you need. It wasn't the perfect windshield though and it has since been given to my wife and then relegated to the spare windshield collection after we each got Madstad Robobrackets.

Okay, I say a phantom Spyder in the shop at our old dealer that had all kinds of mods done, and the small windshield behind the large one with the slider bars was one of them. It looked pretty interesting, but not enough for me to want to give it a try myself so I sort of dismissed it. I had no idea what kind of windscreen it was, and actually thought it might have been something he created himself.

I have also heard very good things about the Robobrackets. Can you mount any Spyder windscreen to those?
