• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Upgrade of the Built-in GPS

My 2016 RT Ltd came with the Garmin 660 Zumo, which is OK, but I really would've preferred the newer 590 Zumo.
When the 660 boots up, the screen displays a "Can-Am" splash-screen, and the default vehicle on the map is a little mini Can-Am Spyder, which is kinda cool.
If the 660 Zumo is like most other Garmin GPSs, then the vehicle is simply an individual file held in the vehicle folder within the "Garmin" folder.

My question is - if I swap out my 660 Zumo and wire in the 590 Zumo (purchased through a non-BRP retailer), how would I have the new GPS boot-up with the Can-Am display? I'm sure I can just find and transfer the vehicle file over to the new GPS.

Thanks.
Cheers.

I have the Spyder_RT.srf file if you need it in the future.

WOW.. Thanks.

That DIY post is incredible.
Thank you..!!!

I like to tinker around with stuff, including files embedded within GPSs and stuff, but had no idea that I could install my own splash screen.
Thanks again.
