There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
has anyone had any results in using the blank space in the middle of the panel of 4 switches on a 14 RT Limited to add a new switch there for on/off of something like a kickazz set of LED lights.......
I have an ST-S and installed a rocker switch in the switch panel to turn on and off a fan I had mounted under the Spyder to draw away heat while stopped or in slow traffic in summer. Very easy install and didn't require expert mechanical ability. I just had to remove a lot of tupperware to do it.
West marine has water proof rocker switches that can be made to work and look close to stock, I had one on my last bike. I now found that the overhanging lip of the dash, on the underside, is deep enough to house switches similar to these but these are momentary, they also come in regular on/off and have lights to let you know when they are on. Nice and clean, I have one installed so far but as more stuff comes along there is a lot of room for more.
I used a Daystar also. They match the factory other than red lights instead of blue and no fancy icons. Should be cheaper than factory. But if you are only putting on in for light you could probably get the BRP one for the fog lights on an RY and use that for your LEDs and have a switch that looks like is was there all along.
The daystar switch works great and fits with only a little trimming of the console panel. The panel is LOADS of fun to get out. Still can't understand why someone thought it was a good idea to put a push pin retainer in that location.
took Spydy for a great 400+ mile ride yesterday went to see the *Little River Canyon* Fort Payne ,AL was a great ride & loved doing the route around the canyon.....
