• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Update to parking brake wont release

Posted a story about my 2012 RT parking brake that wont release and was told by my Dealer that although I needed to have my RT repaired by the 8th of July there was no way that could happen as they are so booked up and I would be looking at least 2 to 3 weeks, before they could even look at it.
So I gave a personal friend of mine a call and he made a suggestion which I decided to try knowing that my dealer may not be happy about what I want to do. (I needed my RT back and repaired) I called the Dealers other branch who I had heard was not so backed up and spoke to and extremely helpful person who is in charge of their service department and without hesitation he told me he would go out of his way to assist me. He told me he will pick up my RT the very next day and trailer it back to his shop and get onto it straight away.
Now remember my RT was towed in to my local Dealer on Tuesday I called their other branch on Wednesday and was told he would pick up my RT on Thursday for me and trailer it to his shop. I called him on Thursday afternoon to find out if he had picked up my RT and was totally surprised when he told me he had not due to when he got there to pick it up my RT it was already being worked on and he was 100 % sure if I call my local branch my RT would be ready for me to pick it up.
I called and to my surprise I was told that yes that had just finished working on my RT and it had been serviced and the parking brake repaired but he was not sure as, he needs to talk to the tech, on the ticket it says a special part needs to be ordered .... he would call me back once he checked with the tech.
He called back and said I can come and get my RT its ready as they had found they had the special order part in stock and had competed the parking brake repair.
WOW I am one happy customer I am so happy and delighted that they did this for me that I am not going to say any more, as I am sure a few of you reading this are thinking and I have my own ideas BUT one must not be ungrateful they managed to do this for me in an unbelievable turn around time so I will say my THANK YOU'S and pick up my RT today.

Great news..!

but still curious what special parts were needed to repair your parking brake..seems strange as many times we have seen this and it was an adjustment cable off track etc. Guess all is good if they got you going..ryde on..!! :2thumbs:

I was curious too since there is no such thing as a "special" part for an "ordinary" function, so I went back and scrutinized the OP... which ultimately said "special ORDER" part. I'm glad and encouraged that the dealer(s) came through with excellent service for a dire situation!

UPdate to parking brake wont release

Well I got my RT on Friday and on reading the repair order it stated that the parking brake switch was bad and was replaced...... not sure why a "special order part" was mentioned but maybe they dont even keep those switches on hand and normally would have to order one from BRP. I was just lucky they had one in stock....now I wonder HOW many of the switches have gone bad and caused this problem????? If it is a common problem I should hope that all Dealers keep some in stock.
