• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Update on wobbling issue with 2013 RTS

Wow!!

The question you have to wonder about and beg to ask? Does the mechanic at the dealer take a vehicle for a ride after they pdi them? If I was handing a vehicle over to a customer for a sale, I would take it for a ride to make sure the set up was perfect. Same with repairs. Customer comes in with an issue, you test drive it as part of diagnosing the problem. You fix the problem, you test drive it after you give it back to the customer. Something is wrong when you pick up a brand new Spyder and it has issues already. I love the Spyder, but this sounds like poor customer service to me, cant blame it on the bike.

I know my dealer/tech did. When he test drove my spyder and came back from where he started, he saw a puddle of coolant. He realized there was a problem which was subsequently diagnosed as a kink in the hose. Problem was fixed and no more coolant on floor.

Wobbling issues

Over the years we have said over and over the importance of a quality pre delivery inspection. Especially on a new model you would think that BRP and their dealers would be committed to being sure the newest, latest and greatest products are being delivered trouble free (I guess it really boils down to the dealer). It seems like this could have easily been identified on a road test prior to delivery. Hopefully it is a simple fix and you will be back on the road soon.

I have a 2012 RT Limited. I'm not certain if it is BRP or the Dealer that is doing a poor job of quality control or checking these units for alignment before they hit the road. My ride home with my RT was 80 miles of hanging on to a monster. Found a great dealer, with a good shop. Alignment did the trick, Elka's and Baja Ron Sway bar tweaked it in to one great ride, absolutely love it. Patience is important, I have been working on the gas fumes which was a pinched hose, fuel gauge not working and high temps which is a weeping water pump. Again not the dealer working on the Spyder, something very wrong which would be quality control. Just my two cents, BRP better get with quality control.

There may be a problem with BRP Trying to keep up demand for the New ST/RT at the expensive of quality control.

As soon as the new ST/RT Model was announced the demand for it was quickly established with varous dates being given for the new models to be delivered to the Dealers - It may well be that BRP was trying to please purchasers by getting them out sooner so as not to disappoint them - I am not trying to defend BRP but can uderstand there are 2 sides to every story and its not in BRP Interest to have negative feedback for a new model

BRP should now notify any new owners awaiting delivery of a new model that it may be delayed for a short period
as they review any quality control issues before the models are shipped to the dealers
I am sure new owners will accept this knowing they should not experience any issues as posted on various websites

We were starting to hear encouraging signs BRP were taking issues seriously and I am sure this will be the case now
BRP needs to move forward in customer care and not backwards

BRP has postponed alignment testing on the 2013 spyders due to snow.

It has been stated that many of the 2013 modles have a serious steering problem and BRP is working with the Dealers to equip them with a new alignment tools to set up these modles.
Also BRP has asked we be patient due to ther testing facility being snowed in so folks it sounds like until they ( BRP ) can do some testing they wont be able to work with the Dealers and provide them with the additional tools to make the proper adjustments that are needed on all or most of the 2013 line.
