• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

update on some of the replacement issues.

I have been working with the dealership on a couple of issues that may concern other Ryders. I did not replace the exhaust pipe, did not order the hindle, and the existing pipe is showing a "burn" pattern on the outside of the pipe. This is an old complaint, but BRP has not really had to push to fix due to so many replacing the pipe with an aftermarket or Hindle (if they could find one). BRP has been working on redesigning the pipe and will reissue a better pipe but not expected until the end of the year. So if the pipe gets worse...they will replace with a temp. of some kind and you still get to burn it up until the "fix" is issued. Because this will be at no expense to me, I am okay with it.
Also the "key" scratch on the handle bars. BRP has now caught up enough that they are taking orders for the replacement plates pre-attached to new handlebars... as there is no "safe" way of removing Premier Edition embossed plates to power coat or paint the handle bars. The dealership will place an order for new handlebars with VIN# plate and that will also take several months to get.

Can you elaborate on the "key" scratch. I am not familiar with it.

When many of the Premier Editions were shipped out, they inserted the 1st key in the ignition and attached the 2nd key to the end of the fob. The 2nd key (ususally enclosed in plastic) traveled thousands of miles moving back and forth across the handbars, scratching a half-moon line in the paint or powder coating. My Spyder arrived scratched but I was told that somehow BRP would make it "right". We tossed around options, including having some one hand paint my name across the scratch (kind of like covering up a tattoo). ;D

So with Harleys, the rider gets a tattoo, but with Spyders, it's the motorcycle? ;D

You know i got that rub mark from the key. Thanks for the heads up.Sounds like they are going to take care of this.Guess i need to report to dealer. Thanks Carol first ive seen on this topic. Dyno824

Make sure to hound your dealer, otherwise, nothing said will get nothing done. I had the dealer place the scratch info on the contract, to futher obligate a resolution....like having an open complaint or a booger on the end of your finger that won't go away. :joke:

It was really "iffy" at first. BRP just wanted to send out new blank handlebars and do away with the metal inserts. I said that was not acceptable. If I am going to buy "Vista" and have to work the bugs out for the future owners, I want my PE plaque!
As the company makes new updates/changes, having something that says, hey this was from the earlier production, gives my little guy (Spyder) some credibility! When the big Red drives by, we will hold our heads high! ::)
