Update on Bytemi and Little Bytemi (Antonia) :)

Gout

I went to an orthopedic DR because I was having trouble with the left knee that he put in. After x-rays and blood tests he said( this is no lie. I don't know what is the matter with your knee) He then told me to go see my family Dr. After a visit with my familyDR, he said the ortho DR said I had the gout in my knee. I was put on a drug for the gout. After a while my right eye started to bother me.:yikes: After a visit to an eye dr, I was told the medicine I was put on caused the problem in my right eye. Now when I look through my right eye everything is dark because of the damage to the retina.:banghead: The problem I had with my left knee was that it was loose. Had to have a new knee put in.:gaah: So much for DRs

Find a store with tart black cherries, or tart red cherries. Take 4 or so a day, this will help most peoples gout. The medicine is very hard on your system. This has worked well for me.

Also Black Cherry juice helps, about 2 to 4 ounces a day, I cut it with sprite. Yea, gout at 34

I feel like we have been in limbo for so long, I just want to get back to a normal routine, but it seems like every time I get close something stops me and knocks me back. It is a truely terrible feeling.

Update

Antonia is more than half way through with her therapy and she is doing great! Her grades have gone up and she is reading about one book a week now (79 Pages) and she can tell you all about the story. She only has 15 more weeks of therapy and then she should be done! I can't wait! She is no longer walking into walls or door frames and her accidents have decreased so much! No broken bones in 6 months so that is a celebration all by itself.

On a personal note, the cosmos need to stuff me in a bag and punch me repeately has continued. After returning from my grandmothers funeral and settle back into a routine, I was dignosed with possible uterine cancer. I begged the doctor to wait until after Christmas before doing surgery, because I didn't want to kill Christmas for the girls. He agreed and on December 26th, I had surgery. The recovery is taking me a lot longer than I expected. I have been on restricts for over a month and half and I am going a little crazy. No bowling, no shooting, no riding, no lifting anything heavier than a Diet Pepsi. The good news is the surgery was a success and I am cancer free! So once again, I am trying to get back to a normal life.

Antonia's Doctor said that she has improved so much he is authorizing extracurricular activities for her again. She is applying to the robotics club (see attached picture of her first robot). She programmed it to walk from the side of the bed to the refridgerator in the bedroom. This weekend she said shes adding an arm so it can retrieve a Diet Pepsi for me, so when my legs don't work, I can still get drinks. She really is a special little girl. She wants to start playing softball again in the Spring too, but we are on the fence. Between therapy and robotics, I think she will be overwhelmed. But we will see.

I had really hoped that 2013 was going to be better but it has not started yet.

Well I think my last post jinxed Antonia. In the last week she got hit in the eye with a jump rope giving her a black eye, she smashed her nose into her desk cause a two day bloody nose and she feel down the stairs breaking her foot. It's been a heck of a week.

Another Update - First Ride of the Season Together

Little Bytemi and I went out for a ride tonight after dinner. I think spring is finally coming to Northern Virginia. Antonia only has 9 more therapy sessions and was evaluated last week. Unfortunately, the doctor said he feels she is going to need more work at the end of those 9 weeks. Hopefully she will surprise us all and make great progress in the next 9 weeks, but we will do what is necessary. I can tell you that we have seen great improvement in her school work and she scored above average on all of her standardized tests. We are really impressed with how she is doing. Since we are expecting to have to continue therapy, her pitching career in softball will have to wait until next season, but she did join the robot club and appears to be enjoying building her robots.

Hi Bob, I am doing OK. My vision is a little wacky still but I am managing. I just need a break from life or I need this black cloud that has been hanging out with me for 6 months to go away and not come back. Hopefully sooner rather than later..
