• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

upcoming Big Announcement.....hmmm, what's it going to be?

Guys:

I might be wrong, but don't hold your breath for anything earthshattering.

For a leaning trike, it does not quite make sense at this point: BRP has been struggling with every state and province legislation to make the Spyder accessible without a driver license. They will not jeopardize these efforts with a leaning trike in the Spyder product lineup.

Regarding the hybrid Spyder, it is a nice, politically correct protytope to attract attention at trade shows, but let's face it: riding a Spyder is not about saving gas. I doubt there is a real market for a $2000/$3000 more expensive Spyder that saves gas. Give me a properly sized gas tank and I will stop complaining.

The leaks, so far, have been more towards a sportier RT, or an RS with a real windshield and storage. That would make a lot more sense as a Gen2 Spyder than anything else.

They are still building their market share: once they get well established, they will be able to diversify. Now is not the time to confuse the market.

I hate to rain on the parade, but if you are not realistic, chances are you will be disapointed.

...Ben...

I got it too. You beat to posting it. looks like the RS with the frunk of the RT, headlights of the RS and an articulating windshield. rear end looks pretty normal.

Though I had though they may at least add stock saddlebags. doesn't seem so from the silhouette.

I agree the windshield is changed, but I don't see the difference in the trunk.

Notice the "sweepSTakes", so for me it looks like it is going to be a ST. Last time BRP did a big announcement was for the RT, and BRP don't do big announcements for yearly color changes.

From my earlier post.....

"With that I make my own predictions, so mark this prophecy to see how close I am.

For 2013 we are likely to see a jazzed up and powered up sporty version of the Spyder, something of a cross between an RT and RS, a big jump in displacement and maybe additional cylinders.

In 2014 the hugh news is likely to hit with Can Am's public unveiling of a leaning front end, ala: like a motorcycle! I think they already have a prototype undergoing testing."

Well, I think I'll be partly right.....:bowdown:smoky

It's a good plan for them to announce these things on Sunday night. Otherwise you would all be camping in front of the dealerships with your checkbooks in your hand, from the sounds of things, like at the Apple store. :roflblack:

I figure that now the new iPhone 5 is released & the Apple store lines are gone, those folks can go back to their Occupy Wallstreet day jobs.
