• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Unsafe Ryder

If you can't ride with the big dogs stay to the rear.
Some riders are more agressive than others though I agree this guy might have been riding like a jerk if you don't like being passed or keeping your speed with the front of the pack you should ride towards the rear:ani29:

I disagree with the big dog thing. On a mass ride like it seems this was, there shoul have been been no passing. Safety briefs are a must or people die. If this was a Deal Gap gaggle, I would let do what ever he wanted and made sure I not around him, anyplace.

I have just as much issue with guys who ride too slow. I say pick the group that rides like you ride and don't worry about the rest. I pretty much hate group rides but I thought that went pretty well for as many Spyders that were there. :doorag:

What would the Mongols Do?? WWMD

What would the Mongols do? Shoot him!

Two years ago out at Sturgis I got to see a Mid 20 year old guy get owned by a HA after he did some stupid stunt around them I gathered. The 20 year got his ass bet, and then arrest by the South Dakota Trooper. This all happened at stop sign on lazelle street right down town for everyone to see. The guy was crying to the Troopers he hit me, and the cat callers replied lucky he did not shoot your ass. The HA guy got back on his bike, and they all rode off. Now I believe these old bikers that tell me the Police do not even want to mess with the HA.

I also thought the ride went pretty well considering the numbers. There always has to be one idiot... and like someone else said... you can fix stupid. I had a blast!!! Videos and photos coming shortly.

What the heck do 1%'s have to do with some bozo at a BRP event?? The original poster didn't mention anything about patch holders.....I'm not seeing any connection:dontknow:, and don't see a need for someone to make one......

Sounds more like some young punk full of testosterone and devoid of common sense with a need to show off..... Exactly why I shy away from group rides. There is ALWAYS at least one inexperienced idiot.....I'll stick to riding with people I choose to ride with, and if they do something foolish, I'll say something or avoid them in the future.......

You know. You are right. Pure choice of words and example. I do agree with the way you put it. :opps:

That is one reason I don't ride my own bike when we go for a group ride with people who I have never ridden with before. I hop on the back of hubby's bike (see hubby, this is how you can get me back on the back of your bike). My parents have a habit of riding an inconsistent speed which is quite irritating. So they lead and then hubby and I will set our own speed. If we want to go a bit faster, we work out a meeting spot beforehand so we can meet. That way it saves on aggravation. Hubby and ride much the same speed, but he has been riding longer and sometimes likes to go a bit faster, so I just tell him I will meet up with him. I always ride at my level. I don't try to keep up with him.

Even though I don't own a Spyder yet, I ride in a woman's bike club ( well, when I don't have a broken leg that is)! I am the tail gunner for our club, and if I or any other member sees someone who is riding in an unsafe way with our group, we pull over and have a talk to them. Sometimes it's just someone day dreaming, or they just don't 'fit' with our style of riding.

You could say something to this guy if you ride often with him, or just steer clear of him if you encounter him in future rides. Either way, ride your own ride and enjoy it!

Unfortunately that type don't respond well to advice. He's more than likely to give you a F You, than listen. His parents are the ones that need the advice
