Not a good idea. Kind of like discussing religion or politics or gun control or ... you get the idea. Let's keep it about the Ryde.ray:

That's very true, but you want to feel comfortable that your ride won't fall apart on you.
In my opinion, the question is appropriate, and deserves an answer. Some may feel more comfortable if BRP is a union shop, others, not so much. Once answered, that should be the end of the discussion.
Except that some people can't leave it at a simple yes or no. The initial post hasn't been up but a few hours and already there are the 'i hope so's and the 'i hope not's.
It's just something that's bound to get out of hand.
(ETA-and even as I typed it got moved to the off topic board. Good moderation. Thank you.)
Well, I didn't mean for the topic to cause such debate but perhaps I should explain why I ask. First of all, let me describe myself. I work for the BNSF Ry for 41 years next month (I will retire in 362 days but who's counting). At the beginning of my career I was "left of center", now I am "right of center". I am a registered Republican who supports the unions. The railroads operate as a closed shop meaning you must join a union after you're hired. It is not a pre-requisite for hire however as is the case for many other jobs. The purpose of the union originally was job safety, job protection, and more importantly, enforcement of child labor. I have witnessed abuse by and against unions in America as we all have. Its a pity that man must be greedy and immoral enough that unions were necessary.
Now the reason I asked: there is a raffle being conducted by a union in Canada offering a RT. My local is offering chances at the drawing. For me it was a matter of principal. If the local is supporting another lodge for a chance at a piece of merchandise, then that merchandise had better be union made. If you're against illegal immigration then you better not have an illegal nanny in the house.
Firefly indicated that the possibility BRP of being a union shop is likely. No other posts have suggested one way or another. I hope somebody can say definitely yes or no.
I could care less if the Spyder was union made or not. I bought the ryde and loving it.
Maybe if it is a union I would think it would be a Machinists union but I could be wrong. maybe there is a website for these unions where you could do a search to see if the Spyder is made by union workers or not.
