• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question......why in the world do you need a battery tender on a brand new bike with a brand new battery ?<snip>

I have always believed, perhaps mistakenly so , that the use of a Battery Tender while the bike (Spyder) is parked extends the life of the battery. I have been told this by many people who I trust. Am I being naive? :gaah:

If you are planning on parking the bike for more than a couple weeks--then a Battery Tender is not going to hurt.

I put the Battery Tender on when I get ready park it for the winter sleep. Usually October through March. Both :spyder2:'s usually roar to life on the first try.

I drive mine daily. Akspyderlady's is parked three days out of seven. No battery tender here.

Battery Tenders have been a GREAT source of debate in here! :D
Are they necessary"
Yes; and no...
The 998 bikes have a 650 watt magneto, that does an "Okay" job of keeping the battery charged-up...
The 1330 bikes have a 1200 watt alternator...
For long term storage (Over a Month); I'd plug one in.
For short term; you're really only making yourself feel better... nojoke
