• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Unbelievable

Anyway... Here's to a problem being solved!

I don't think the issue is solved yet Bob !!!

Usually, when a problem is solved the poster would come back on the forum and atleast say thank you those who helped him. Maybe it's not fixed yet ??? :roflblack:

Interesting. Does sound like the fuses were swapped. I can't believe this happened at the factory because I'm pretty sure they run each Spyder to operating temperature. As soon as that fan relay kicked in it would blow a 5A Fuse. Seems to me that swap must have happened after your Spyder left the factory.

Just not sure why anyone would be swapping out fuses though.

Mode switch, foot on brake?

OMG, I am such a dork!!!!!!!! That is why my Spyder won't turn over sometimes. I was looking for a pattern, heat, long ride, turn it off and on too quickly. Never occurred to me that I have to have my foot on the brake. Thank you so much!

Sorry not trying to hijack the thread, you have no idea how much that was bugging me.

I often start my bike without putting my foot on the break if it needs time to warm up,,,:dontknow:
The SEs start fine without the brake if they are not shut off in gear, from what I understand. Not sure if the parking brake needs to be set under those conditions.

If you shut it off w/o setting the brake it lets you know with an annoying beep!

Possibly when they were installing the 12V Accessory outlet in the frunk?

Ok, i don't even get on the seat...neutral, parking brake on..no problems..

Just an update

Since this post was initiated some 9 months ago - no more problems of any type with the RS. Very happy with it.

Almost makes me want to visit the RT - if they're as reliable.

:agree: only if a fuse was blown at service prep:dontknow:

I love reading these threads. I have learned so much in the last 2 weeks. Doing the maintenance on my spyder is going to save me a lot of money. I also want to be able to turn wrenches on her if she needs it. Thanks everybody:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
