• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ultimate vs Corbin

I don't currently own a Corbin seat, but.....

I bought a used Corbin for my 2010 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager. The stock seat was awful, and this was a NICE upgrade. It sat substantially lower than the stock seat, and although it was hard it's shape was really nice.

I've owned a Mustang seat, and it was a real upgrade from the stock Honda Sabre seat.
I've tried a Mustang on my Kawasaki and it didn't work, but the Corbin was great.
I upgraded my stock seat on my RT with an Ultimate seat Tallboy with a gas door, MUCH better than stock.

I had excellent customer service with Ultimate and Mustang, little contact with Corbin. I don't like the fact that you can't try and return their seats, unline Ultimate and Mustang.

UrsaMajor bought a used Ultimate seat for his RT from someone on the forum. He decided to buy a backrest, and wanted it to match the custom colors of the used seat he bought. Ultimate told him that since the original owner had already sprung for the custom colors, they'd sell him the backrest with the custom colors at no extra cost. You can't get better service than that.

Bottom line, almost any seat is better than stock bike seats. If I ever upgrade from my Ultimate it will be with a RDL.

I don't post much, but i will put my 2 cents worth on this one. Over the years I have had Russell seats on every bike I have owned.....since 1998. The Spyder RT-L seat is the 10th one, and I would not trade it for anything else. Terry and the crew at Russell are great. I have shipped in 2 seats, and the rest I have ridden in to be fitted, and they do it that day. You ride home with a new seat that afternoon. I am lucky to be close enough to do that. One thing to remember.............if something is not quite right, they have an 18 month policy that you can send it back.......tell them what isn't right, and they will adjust for you......for nothing. You would have to pay shipping. I can't say enough about the RDL.

SEAT MOD

Got my modified stock seat back from Astech seats on Friday. They had it one week. Went for a ride yesterday, it was cold here in NC but I had to test it out. I am very pleased with what they did. I like the look of the stock seat that came on my RT-S so getting this done saved a lot of money and I kept the look I like. My wife has an Ultimate seat on her RT-S and she loves it. It is very comfortable and is beautiful but I'm not sure it's any better than mine. I have had Russell's on several other bikes and they are great. If you want to save some money and like the looks of the stock seat give Astech a try.

What did it cost? Pics? :nopic: Tom :spyder:

Seat

I had both positions on the saddle modified so that on the rare occasion when the wife rides with me she will be comfy. Price was $319.00. It looks like a stock seat, no difference can be seen but it sure can be felt.

My Mustang Seat has arrived!

Sorry for slipping into this seat comparison thread with another brand but thought it was relevant.

No "seat time" obviously but, just sitting making the vroom vroom sound has me believing it's going to solve any issues I had with the stock seat.

My Opinion, build quality is excellent!

So I ordered the Ultimate Seat last Saturday and a very large box came in yesterday via UPS. After 2 1/2 hours this afternoon the switch was made and it sure looks good, sits even better and the highway pegs are a lot more comfortable fit.:yes::yes::yes::yes: (4 Sale slightly used RT Limited seat) :yikes::yikes: Maybe I'll get a chance to ride tomorrow.
