There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Ultimate seat or BRP comfort seat for an RT

Never heard a bad review of an Ultimate. Comfort seat is for longer legged people and some report it is a bit more comfortable than stock.

Comments on these seats which do you think is the better buy ?

Are you looking for a price comparison, a value comparison or performance.

My comfort seat was a one hour seat.

My Ultimate seat is a five hour seat.

There are lots of other advantages with the Ultimate but that difference sold me.

Finished up nine weeks and 12k plus, coast to coast, on the Ultimate with backrest. Best seat I have ever owned.

Thanks for the reply. The Ultimate sounds like the way to go. The old saying; The Quality is remembered LONG after the price is forgotten. :lecturef_smilie:

I have the Ultimate on my 13 RT/S and love it, however I would like to try a factory comfort seat for kicks just to see the difference.

thanks. It is nice to hear from people who used both...it sort of eliminates unfounded opinion.

You should try to sit on both before you make your purchase. I find the Ultimate seats very uncomfortable for me. I'm 5'10" and have a 34" inseam. On the Ultimate it makes me slide forward. The BRP Comfort seat is very comfortable for me and I like that it is a little firmer than the stock seat.

Ultimate seats are not waterproof, water damage voids the warranty, and you have to buy and use a plastic rain cover. They dont have a moisture barrier layer so water will soak into the foam and may cause mold damage. Other than that it is a great seat but expensive.

To be fair, no seat is waterproof. Many seats use a plastic barrier under the cover to keep the foam dry which sucks when it is really hot. I have had no problem with rain on my Ultimate Tall Boy.

I replaced my Comfort seat with an Ultimate Tall Boy. Both are comfortable but I had a Utopia backrest which left little room for a passenger. For me, the Ultimate is great and I can ride all day with it. I also put one on my Vulcan 900 and have no regrets.

With the Ultimate seat it has an optional fuel door. The comfort seat does not have this. I have the Corbin with the "Lamonster" cut and fuel door. For me it is much more easier to open the fuel door than lift the seat to access the gas tank.

dimension difference

The comfort seat moves the driver back 2 inches. If you get the ultimate "tall boy" it moves the driver back 1.5 inches. As far as water goes put a 55 gallon heavy trash bag in the frunk and when it rains lift the seat up slide the bag on, tuck it in and put seat back down and go back inside resturaunt or even ride on it. the lack of plastic under the seat makes it much cooler in the summer.

Unclejay,

Thanks for your comments. We do not use a moisture barrier between the seat cover and the foam in order to let our seats breath better on hot days. Also, our premium marine grade vinyl will not let any water through. The only water that penetrates into the seat is through the stitch lines.

No seats, even stock seats with the plastic barrier under the cover, are waterproof. We do admit to it however, and provide a solution with our custom fitted Frogg-Togg material rain covers.

The memory foam that is found inside of Ultimate Seats has a mold inhibitor in it's chemical composition, so no worries about mold. Stock seats do not have a mold inhibitor, and will mold over time.

Lastly, for water to damage our foam - the seat must be repeatedly soaked several times, and left wet for the foam be affected.

Best regards~

I have had the Ultimate on both of my Spyders. On my RS I had at first gone to the BRP upgraded seat and then went yo the Ultimate. Would not trade it for anything
