There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Ultimate seat on ST?

Ultimate Seat for ST

I've got a 2013 ST, and put the Ultimate Mid-Rider on, with both passenger and driver back rests. I very much like the seat. It took a little getting used to at first, as it put me a little closer to the handle bars than the stock seat. But, after only a few rides, it feels very natural now. Longest trip has been about 4 hours, and yes, we were both sore. But, I do think the Ultimate is way more comfy than the original seat.

ULTIMATE SEAT

I replaced the stock with an Ultimate seat with rider and passenger back rests. I still had a sore tush after about an hour so I got the Airhawk R seat cushion and sheepskin cover and now I can ride comfortably for hours.

I did end up purchasing the Ultimate seat with driver backrest. A little stiff at first, it needs some break in time. It feels good now and I really like the backrest

Question: How much difference is there between the OEM seats on the ST, and RS models? :dontknow:
I realize that physically, they all bolt up the same... What is the difference in how they're cut?

Big difference. RS is barrel shaped where the ST is much flatter.

Hey Bob, I was looking at a 2012 RS-S before I got the 2013 ST-S, I thought the seats were the same. Same look and felt the same. Good luck!

ultimate driver backrest security question

I've just received my second-hand ultimate seat for ST, reduced reach so I'm much happier. Love it to bits. The only concern I have is that the driver's backrest just pulls out - which means no security. Yes, I can put it in the frunk (every time) but I was wondering whether anyone has figured out how / where to put a little set-screw or similar to 'lock' it into place ? Clues welcomed. Thanks all.

comfort seat

i just have use my new Comfort seat for a while but i think its hard as rock and figure to reinstall the original. But i check with other users here in Sweden and they say that i must use it and keep running to get it perfect. Is that thrue??

I was also told the comfort seat gets softer after you use it for a while - but I don't know how far you have to ride for this to happen - mine didn't change much. If you like the original better, put it back on and keep or sell the comfort seat... just a thought.

But are you happy with it or are you going to change to original?? Its strange when you read it on brps site " Premium plush styling with stitched seat skin
Custom saddle look and relaxed sitting position
Increases driver and passenger comfort and reduces tailbone pressure
Ideal for driving long distances
"

You gotta do what YOUR bottom wants!
Me? Well I had the comfort seat on the RS and loved it; kept it when I traded and put it on the ST where I hated it; put stock ST seat back on; sold the comfort seat (oddly enough to the same fellow interstate who bought my old RS); then found a used Ultimate reduced reach seat which is now on the ST. It is, sadly, a bit harder than the stock ST seat but it seats me in a better position, being a short person.

So - comfort seat on RS - brilliant. Same seat on ST - didn't like at all. Seat is harder than stock RS or ST seats.

Suggestion? You could try a sheepskin to soften it all up ? Kind of defeats the purpose of a really cool looking seat though haha

Another suggestion? look at Magdave (sponsor on this site) info and take out staples, cut out a bit of foam under your bottom I think, put in gel foam, re-staple the seat. Will make it lovely for you. If my Ultimate seat doesn't soften up in a few hundred more kilometres, that's what I'll be doing I think. The Ultimate has memory foam and it is possible that, as it was a 'used' seat, it has 'remembered' somebody else's bottom and will sort itself out, at least that's what I'm hoping.

Seats are a very individual thing, do what suits you best.
