• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ultimate Seat on an RS

I'm thinking about an ultimate seat for my RS. (Santa is right around the corner). Who has them and what is your feedback on them? I know they are built on the stock pan. Had a chance to sit on one but not Ryde on one. Thanks for any feedback.

Nice seat, nice cushion (a bit softer than others, but still supportive). Pricey (all aftermarket seats are). 5'10", passenger is 5'10", got the mid-rider with two backrests and it works just fine. Got the velcro pocket; never use it (I don't like leaving anything valuable outside the bike). Stands up in light rain, anything heavier and you'll need to use the Frogg-Toggs-like rain cover.

I'd buy one again.

I put a BRP seat on after about 600 miles.. What a difference.. Other then the stiching coming loose I love it.. Am taking it off and putting it on my nes ST Limited when it arrives

I was wondering about the ultimate seat compared to the comfort seat. I am unfortunately in an area where I don't have a big group of spyders or big dealerships that would have either of these to try out. I'm glad to hear feedback on the comfort seat as well

I have had the stock seat, the comfort seat and the ultimate seat. The ultimate seat is best. But there is no perfect seat. The ultimate takes a couple of hundred miles to feel better than stock. The back rest is a good feature IMHO. the fact that it is not waterproof is a bit of a bother but I live in Kalifornia which is basically a desert.

If you would like to set on a Corbin seat to test out the wife and I have a pair of RSS with Corbin seats I just got my seat last week. We live in Brandon let me know. You could test out another seat if you like. I know it is hard to make a decision with out testing the options. Good luck and happy miles!

We put the Ultimate seat on our GS/RS after finishing our 7000 mile road trip last summer; by trip's end we were both in agreement on the need for a new seat. (We had something in the neighborhood of 22k miles on our bike by then). We absolutely fell in love with it when we took the Spyder on a test ride with the seat installed at Thunder Beach last year. We always rode the GS/RS two up before we got our RT so we bought backrests for each of us. I use the pouch on the backrest for extra earplugs, tissue, etc.

We will definitely use Ultimate if/when we decide our RT seat needs replaced. Their customer service and product are top notch.

That would be great. I wouldn't only like to test it out, I would love to get together and ride sometime. I have a friend in Brandon (Spyder601) that has a yellow RS. We have been looking for more spyders to Ryde with.

Thanks for the input. That's great to know. I am definitely leaning toward the ultimate.

I don't know if there are any motorcycle rallies coming up around your neck of the woods, but you can usually sit on different seats at them...that's how we got to check out the Ultimate seats. The guys we ride with that have Corbins are always talking about switching to the Ultimate ones when they can do so. Best thing for you would be to sit on different seats and decide for yourself. Good luck.
