• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Uhaul trailer for spyder

Yes, I did it just a couple of months ago. 6x12 open trailer WITHOUT the ramp. :hun:

They also have a 6x12 with a ramp, but there are 'wings' at the back that make the opening too narrow.

Fortunately, I have a couple of folding ramps that are about 10' long. I had to fabricate a third ramp for the rear wheel.

Whatever ramp(s) you use, be SURE to use straps to anchor them to the trailer so they don't scoot away.

To position the Spyder ('17 RT-S, in my case) in the trailer, I cut a 2x4 to fit the width of the trailer and positioned it about 30" from the front. I cut a couple more 2x4s to hold the cross-piece in place and also act as side bumpers to keep the bike centered. A ratchet strap through each front wheel to the hooks in the corners of the trailer kept the bike from moving to the rear. Two straps through the rear wheel, then angled to the hooks in the rear corners of the trailer kept the bike from moving forward.

I don't anticipate doing this very often (Spyders are meant to be RIDDEN), but I'll certainly do it again if necessary.

Please post pics of what you did? I had a 3 ramp set, but gave it away before I moved. :banghead: Tom :spyder:

I checked into a U-Haul trailer and found the same thing Steve W did. With a ramp the 6X12 was too narrow. I found a rental trailer at Tractor Supply that their customers use to haul goods purchased from them. They said it also was a 6X12 but when I measured it the opening was actually 6'9" wide. Bingo!!!!! Worked well for my RTL and cost was $25.00 per day. I rented it for 5 days. As infrequently as I wanted to trailer the spider, I thought this was a good bargain...... Jim
