• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Uh-oh... RS stall after hard braking

Any ideas what caused this?

Had my RS SE5 (2010, with ~750 miles as of today) out this morning for an absolutely perfect ride on the Northern Virginia backroads (for you locals, Old Georgetown Pike on a Sunday is a great ride).

After some twisties, I approached a stoplight. Since I was coming in a little hot :D, as the light turned yellow and I saw traffic at the intersection, rather than race through I decided to stop quick from about 35 mph to zero, in just about the shortest distance possible.

About half a second after the Spyder braked to a stop, it stalled out and died, as quiet as a whisper. Surprised, I hit the ignition and started right up again. I rode another 20 miles with no problem.

Any ideas what might have caused this? Loss of pressure in the fuel line? Transmission issue?

FYI, I just had my first service last week ~615 miles. I've obviously ridden it a bit since then, but today was my first spirited riding... anything they could have messed up?

Anyway, I'm not too worried about it as long as it doesn't happen again, but it was just dang peculiar, so any thoughts are appreciated.

Well, Just guessing but might be possible your auto shift SE5 never got to
neutral since you had braked so hard to a complete stop. Unless you keep
having this problem I would not lose sleep over it....

That appears to be an ongoing issue. The good thing--you got stopped without a problem.

Shut off, Rebooot, and you should be okay.

Oh, this happens to others? I tried searching for it, but couldn't find the right combination of terms to get a hit.

I'll have to pay attention in case it happens again.
