• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i have a bad back along with a big list of other problems, and i have used many seats on my bikes. bit i think the best seat i have ever had was the ultimate seat, they will also add or remove padding if you wish

Seats..!!

if it seats you will get any number of answers. I liked the stock seat on the RS but found a good deal from a member for the comfort seat with which I am very happy with. The problem Is I can't speak for all the other fine seats being made. The best is finding those that have them and trying them. It's a tough one but you have to decide...:dontknow:

I just got the ultimate seat two days ago and really like it. I have only done about 30 miles on it because it was only 30 degrees outside. I have had a ton of different seats over the years and asked the same question last week and got quite a few different answers but decided on ultimate.

The answer to your question is going to boil down to what does your butt like? It amounts to different strokes for different folks.

Me: don't like the OEM seat so far. Replaced all four of them. Have had two Corbins with back rest. Some say too hard. You like em or don't. I am okay with them and have over 50K of road mile experience on them.

Second choice is BRP comfort seat. Have had them on the other two :ani29:'s. I don't have any issue with them either. Have not used any other manufacturer for seats on the :spyder2:.

Much mention is made for Ultimate seats and Russel Day Long. Test sitting is recommended. Spyder gatherings are probably the best place for that. A new seat is a big cost, and very easy to make the wrong decision.

There are other options which might be what you need and are much cheaper. I added the Utopia drivers backrest and KewlMetal highway brackets with Kury Mini Iso Wings. With the highway pegs set to the right placement, I can stand on them, leaning against my backrest, raising my seat off the saddle about an inch, and ride in that position for miles. My knees are straight, so they're not stressed. I'm leaning against the backrest so my arms and hands are relaxed. I can steer with one or two hands. I'm not standing so high as to look funny or raise my center of gravity too much. Air and blood flow to the areas that need them. As a result, instead of needing to get out of the saddle every 45 minutes, I can ride tank-to-tank, tank-after-tank & day-after-day with this setup. It revolutionized my ability to stay in the saddle with only a fraction of the cost of a new saddle-crapshoot. I've made two 4,000-mile & 10-day rides & have ridden 782 miles in one day with this setup.

I'm a heavy guy and the brackets and pegs hold me well. They come with a couple of links for each side, so you can adjust them to fit your legs.

Here are some pics of my setup

my wife was always sliding into me on the stock seat. we went with the ultimate and they ramped it up on the passenger section and it did the trick. comfortable as you could ever want!:2thumbs: up for ultimates!!

Seats

I had a air hawk pad on the stock seat with utopia back rest I installed road pegs. After riding 3to4 hrs my butt would start hurting . At spyderfest (last year)I had ultimate seat seat with back rest installed. The ultimate seat is a little wider and firmer. They are pricey but for me it was well money spent. I've been to Massachusetts and back in 5 days putting 500+ miles each day butt didn't hurt. If your going to spyderfest Ulitmate will be there. Also there will be other :ani29: With different seats ask the owners if you could sat on it to get an idea what you want. It your money make sure that is what you want. everyone has an option on what they have had and like in seats but you are the one that will be spending the big bucks.

I put an Ultimate on my wife's '08 GS and she loves it & it sure looks nice! I, on the other hand, hate it. When I ride on hers, "the boys" go numb every time after only 30 minutes. :opps:
