Battery and Trunk - Two quick cheap mods
I wanted to keep my battery topped off without going through too much hassle. I bought a Battery Tender from my local Cycle Gear shop, I removed the body panels and attached the pigtail to the battery posts. I routed the pigtail through the opening under the seat where the red plastic covered jumper post is. The pigtail stores in that recess without a problem. When I put my :f_spider: up after a ride, I lift the seat and attach the Battery Tender lead. When I am ready to ride again, the open seat reminds me to turn off the tender and disconnect.
The other really cheap mod ($1.85) was spring loading the trunk lid so it would pop up when the key was turned to open the trunk. I purchased spring # 155 from my local Ace Hardware. I put the spring over the latching post and secured it with a piece of heavy duty twist tie. Now, I just push down on the lid at the latch point, and it latches. When I turn the key, the lid jumps about half an inch and I can get in without any two handed contortions.

I can't take all the credit for the spring idea, I've read dozens of post on at least three :chat: forums, and I've forgotten who mentioned the spring size. :firstplace: Thanks.
