• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

two current service bulletins

While stopping to discuss getting a QUICK oil change they ran my VIN# for my 2016 F3L and came up with two active service bulletins.
1. One was related to increasing throttle friction pull???
2. The other was an inspection of a fuse box for damage related to a cooling fan failure. I was told if I failed that inspection I would not be able to take the bike home until it is fixed.

I'm not sure if I am relaying this info correctly? I wasn't happy about taking a taxi home is I failed an inspection.

Does anyone know the facts about these bulletins?
Dennis

Good to know....

Have seen a post about throttle issue but not the fan failure. Bulletins seldom come to light and just get done quietly...:banghead: guess too much whoop la and they become recalls...:dontknow: would be nice to find out what needs to done seeing as they can't do it right away...

I remember a thread awhile back that had a link to Can-Am's website where they post bulletins - and where owners can check their own VIN against applicable recalls, etc. Do you remember?

Throttle

I have a 2016 RT Special Series. I recently visited my dealer for a small issue. When I went to pick up my bike, they told me that my bike had a recall for something to do with the tension on my throttle. They ordered the new throttle, now I have to make an appointment to get it installed. They said about 30 mins. I'm on vacation next week, so I will get it done then, however, I will be going there at lunch today to set up the service. I will ask a few questions about the details of the recall. It may be the same issue you have. I will keep you posted.

That would also be a Service Bulletin, if it were a recall you would be notified by mail.

I had heard that the 2016 F3T had a throttle body recall/issue and I told my friend about it since she has that year, make and model. When she checked with the dealer they told her they never heard of any issues

I took my 2015 RTS in for a tire change and they have whole list of parts ordered for this throttle issue. I'm not too happy if it makes the twist harder.

no parts on hand

Hold the bike hostage if it needs work?????? :yikes::yikes:

That is a new one for me.:popcorn::popcorn:

They said if the inspection shows a problem can-am doesn't want the dealer to release that Spyder until the repair is made. Something about the location of a fuse box or block where road debris can damage it or the wire going to the cooling fan?? Sounds like more than a service bulletin if they can take away your key after an inspection and make you walk home.

The other is to put more spring tension on the throttle return. I don't want more tension and they made note I declined that service bulletin.

I'll ask for a print out of the service bulletin

Throttle and throttle body are 2 different things. Could it be you got it confused.

The service person told me that the throttle return needed more tension. I have an appointment to have a new throttle installed on Tuesday.
