• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TWEEKING MY ELKA SHOCKS

For the most part, you are right on.

Whew! Glad to hear it. I just happen to have a pretty good dealer (thanks Len) who taught me how to set them.. but I never was an A student....LOL! :roflblack:

[EDIT] and I am definitely an Elka believer. IN addition to my front Elkas, I think I have one of the early releases on the new Elka RT Rear shock. Wow, that made a huge difference for us since we had one of the 2010s with a bad factory rear shock. When my wife notices something is new, you can bet it is worth the money.

What is the part that is missing??

Just this part:

...More preload = more responsive and vise versa. Simply loosen the allen set screw on the preload adjustment nut and compress the spring for more preload or ease off on the compression to reduce preload. Note this will also affect the stance of your Spyder...

Its just a minor detail, but in the suspension world when we talk about "compression" we are refering to hydraulics and not spring tension or preload. I had to re-read his sentence a few times to realise that he was refering to spring preload, as in "compressing" a spring. Its just the way my mind works I guess in terms of the vocabulary used, but his idea and thought process is spot on.
