• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Turn Signal Switch 2010 vs 2011

Anyone who had a 2010 and bought a 2011, have they improved the "mushy" turn signal switch so that you can better feel the cancellation point? I often turn the other side on when trying to turn one side off.

You ain't the only one. God bless BRP.

You aren't alone in the turn signal department. I often wonder did I cancel it when my back is to the sun. Gosh knows there's no real positive tactile verification that you cancelled it or turned the opposite on.

Feel your pain.

Same here on my 2010. I find myself looking at the ESI mudflap signal lights to see if I am still in turn mode. The worse is when it switches from right to left or left to right. Makes me feel like a lost tourist.

mine self cancel or just push straight in?
The RT does the same thing, but the action of the switch is much different, with less tension left or right, and a lot of stiffness pushing in to cancel. That usually results in turning on the left or right turn signal when trying to manually cancel. It would be nice if the RT switch had the same action as the RS.

When I picked up my new spyder (2011 Limited) and was riding home that was the first thing I noticed that it was easy to signal but not as easy to cancel if it was needed. Same issue Scotty indicated :dontknow:

:agree: I thought it was me. I do not have the extra turn lights and the dash is hard to see in sunlight

Seems like a simple fix for BRP. It's a shame that they don't see the need to fix what I would call a potential safety hazard. Having trouble signaling your intentions to other drivers around you, or worse yet, signaling a wrong intention, can place you & others in compromising positions. It is especially difficult if you're wearing heavy gloves.

turn signal

Same problem - I find that pushing the button twice will usually turn-it off, if that doesn't work hubby will tell me it's still on!:lecturef_smilie:
