Tupperware Party

My son-in-law hosted a tupperware party in his garage, yesterday. We stripped down my 2012 RT-S to install HID headlights, HID fog lights (both from Xenon Depot) and the BRP GPS mount and harness. After an afternoon of discovery and problem solving, not to mention two phone calls to Doc Riverside for guidance, the tupperware was replaced, burped, and down the highway I went. Oh, and let me add that there was only one body bolt left over. It goes into the spare fastener bag until I find where I missed replacing it, a panel falls off (yikes!), or I loose a bolt somewhere else on the bike.

Moral of the lesson. Don't be afraid to try. My lights work beautifully and so does my GPS. And, I have a huge sense of satisfaction. ...Gnirtsnod

always said dive in as long as you have sites like this you will not drown..!! Glad all came out working fine. Next time your pulling tupper ware you will see where that bolt came from...I usually find it's the one at the very end under the sport rack holding the splash guard on our RS...enjoy..!!hyea:

I distinctly remember my first time to take Darth apart. Fear, sweat, nerves, and I too had 1 bolt left over. I still don't know where it goes after tearing it apart now, 10-15 times. Another thing you gain in taking the Tupperware off is you gain a faith and knowledge in the bike. Meaning I trust it a lot more now that I have seen the inside. Like my knees- after an MRI showed it was just old age pain and nothing structural causing them to hurt, I push through the pain knowing I'm not damaging anything.

Way to go---should I be envious?

Fantastic and I am glad it went well for you----wish I had "Connections" with people who have more sense than I do for breaking things down and doing electrical work. That is one area I get nervous about big time. I am mechanically inclined, just not in that area.

Would love to some day in the not to distant future wire my 2012 RTS-SE5 for GPS and not sure on the HID lights but am interested in bright-sides (LED Marker lights/turn signals)

Time will tell---just dropped big bucks on new additions here- so have to lay low for a while and rebuild the piggy bank. IF other bills like health insurance doesn't rob me blind! LOL!
