• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trying to find Headlight Skins like Snake eyes - any source ideas?

Hello all, I’m trying to find a pair of headlight skins or covers that look like a reptiles eyes. I believe they have been mentioned on the forum in the past. I’m unable to track them down, but am hopeful someone on here can help point me in the right direction!

My headlight 'glasses' melted a hole in their 'focus spot' after ryding slowly on hot asphalt all day on a hot day WITHOUT any headlight skins fitted!!! :yikes: Altho I must admit, they still had the OE light globes in there, not LED's, but still.... :lecturef_smilie:

So unless you've already swapped to 'lower heat output' LED's, then personally, I wouldn't be recommending anyone fit ANYTHING in the way of headlight skins, particularly if they ever ryde in hot weather &/or on hot tarmac!! nojoke

I'm going to add another note. I ran some light shades as you see on my GL1800 to darken the signals. These particular color (black) covers did not dim the lights much because the sticky part that faces the bulb was WHITE as snow. I remember that the ones I put on my spyder did dim the output because the sticky backing was NOT white. The white reflects the actual light back into the assembly so that it gets bounced back out the front through the holes so it still gets a lot of light out. The dark back of the eyes on the spyder are not white and no light gets recycled out the front dimming the assembly considerably. Don't know if they've changed them since I had them.
