• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

trunk lid issue

F3 girl

Has anybody had any issues with their trunk lid? When opening, mine is scraping against the part around where the auxiliary lights will go. I've attached a photo of the damage from the trunk lid. It came like this from the dealership, they said the trunk and lid come preassembled from the factory. My brother went to a different dealer and checked out the F3 on their showroom floor and it had the same lid issue. Also the lid doesn't shut with ease like my past 2 spyders, now I have to press down on the lid to make it latch. It seems to me the lid is out of alignment or twisted.

Besides this lid issue, which I know my dealer will fix, the F3 is an awesome machine! It is everything all the reviews I read said it was. I was most impressed with how smooth it is. Not only is my butt in this big cushy seat and my body in a more relaxed position, it glides over bumps I would normally slow down a bit for. I have to admit one of the biggest reasons for getting the F3 was for the 1330cc's and lower torque. I was bored with the 990....not any more! I'm in luv:dg1:

My trunk . . . .

. . . works as expected. Yup, have the dealer fix it. Like they said, the F3 comes mostly assembled, but it does need to be fixed.

Anyway, congratulations and I am glad you're enjoying it!

TBH your dealer should have noticed this as he has had to open the frunk and remove the box
in order to connect the battery.

Don't see what you are referring to, but my girlfriends F3 doesn't "pop" open like my F3. Have to grab with finger tips to lift it open.

Absolutely they should have noticed! Especially since they were the ones chipping the paint away every time they opened it. I just received my F3 on Wednesday.

. . . . . I looked at mine today and can only guess that the scissor-hinge is the wrong one. There is no way that the hinge connection points can be mis-aligned on the cover or the body. But then, whenever humans are involved, all bets are off.

Just to be safe, check to see if there is anything between the hinge and body/hood. And of course, the bolts should be all the way in. No gaps, nothing loose.
