• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Truck fire

There was a recent thread on heat issues with STs and someone mentioned Dodge trucks catching fire. Yesterday on my way in to town I saw thick black smoke ahead. Rounded a bend and there were fire trucks and police in the southbound lanes. There was a blue Dodge pickup with the front end fully involved. Couldn't tell what year it was. Felt bad for the firefighters because of the heat. Been there and done that.

I saw two different cars (could not determine make/model) that were toast alongside the highway in the last couple weeks. Is there an epidemic going on?

This sounds like the start of a movie that we should be watching on the SyFy Channel... :yikes:

Or......................the start of a movie we should be avoiding like the plague (itself a suitable topic for a Bad SyFy movie of the week) on the Bad SyFy channel! :dontknow:

Wylie, that was an interesting article. He is correct about the way vehicles burn today. That's why full turnout with SCBA is a must. Not so long ago one of the concerns for firefighters on car fires were the bumpers. Remember the "shock" bumpers? Those things would cut loose in a fire and if you were close in you would end up with one or both legs broken. Our plastic loaded vehicles today go very quickly. Just look at the recent video of the RT at the demo ride. :yikes:

Dodge trucks. I've owned two, will never own another.

I would have considered myself lucky if my 2002 Ram would have burnt to a crisp.
