• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK, What? The Tron Light Cycle is actually a real life machine now. Not only can you own a piece of gamer history, but it's actually street legal! Mind you the bike itself will run you $55,000, but that is just pennies in comparison to the therapy bills that will come from bikers trading in their leathers for skin tight light suits.

I'm not really sure how practical this bike really is, but for those that can afford it here is what you're paying for:
 • Suzuki 996cc, 4 stroke engine
 • Electroluminescent strips built into the tire cowlings
 • Electroluminescent strips built into the wheel rims
 • Electroluminescent strips built into the body to illuminate the cycle
 • 6-speed constant mesh manual transmission
 • Spring loaded front and rigid rear suspension
 • 3 1/2-gallon main fuel tank and 1 1/4-gallon reserve tank
 • 8 1/2" L x 23 1/4" W x 28 1/2" H
 • 474 Pounds
Even though they deem this bike street legal I'm not sure how a fully illuminated body will allow me to focus on anything but that. Can you actually see the headlights or signal lights while illuminated?

Turns out that the original bikes were produced by Parker Brothers in 2010 for the release of the Disney reboot of Tron: Legacy. Each of the 10 machines were to the specifications listed above. They were powered by gas, this new version is all electric running off a 96 volt lithium battery.

According to the auction house Sotheby's the bikes low seat height of just 28.5 inches makes it easy to maneuver even when travelling at lower speeds.

To find out more about the Light Cycle check out Collider as it was released a few years ago, who knew. You would undoubtedly have to contact the old manufacturer directly and get a custom job done as there were only 10 built, that ended up on Ebay and various charity auction sites. Sotheby's will be auctioning one of the electric versions on May 2, 2015 in the UK.

Money can buy anything these day!

Awesome!

I wish I had an extra $55K laying around! :roflblack: I always liked sci fi and have watched the Tron movies (original in 1982 and the Tron Legacy in 2010). Also, played the Tron video games....

Thanks for sharing! :D
