• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Max milage per day on a:spyder2: RT two up. Wife and i make the trak to wa. state from ky. a couple times a yr. on wing and harley sometimes. Well i like to know does anyone here ride like this? We avg. 400-600 mile per. day. on wing can the RT do this? We stay in motels along the way. HOPE to have the RT before end of july (STURGIS) for our trip. What you think?:helpsmilie:

Yup. Should be good to go!! Get a some miles on before you go, etc. RT is good for long days!

I think you could put a few more miles a day on an RT if you ride like you described.
I'll let others like Docdoru or Lamonster vouch for that.:D

I agree w/ JNT tho- get a few miles under your belt just to get any kinks out and to get used to Spyder ryding

684 was my best mileage in one day on my GS and I felt like I could have easily done 100-200 more.

As always, some days 300 kills me, and others are not so bad. Depends on weather, and what side of the bed I woke up on.

We haven't hit 600 mile days two-up, out of respect for my wife, but I have done several myself, sometimes towing a trailer. The Spyder is a great long distance machine, despite its need for frequent gas fills, and is very forgiving toward the end of a long day's journey, when you are tired.

300-600 mile days are doable with the RT. Rode with a passenger last summer to Whithorse, Yukon Territory and we did 400 mile days every day. You could stretch it to 600 for a day or two--but 300- 400 is probably more comfortable.

If memory serves me correct a SpyderLover drove 1100 miles before stopping for the night on the way to the BRP owners event in Chicago last year :yikes:

I do lots of 500 plus days on my RS. No problem I also did ONE 1100 day to get the Iron Butt award. Even that was not really that bad. I will be riding out to the West Coast (BC) this summer on the RS so will likely have a few mor longer days. Next summer I plan on getting an RT. Just have to save up a little more cash. Not sure about two up on the RS though. Just about 100% of my riding has been 1up.

Another question how are they in wind? On the plains it can pick up pretty good. Thanks yu'all it's looking better all the time for a RT S.
