• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

While I won't be going myself (boo, just not the right time), I am curious if any of our owners might head to Canada with their normal "riding partner" in tow (as in four legged). Have not seen this mentioned, so I am curious.

Are there are any hurdles or hoops that one might need to overcome if traveling with a pet? :hun:

Inquiring minds want to know .... Ann

We did a bit of investigating, and here's what we found:
If licenses are required for your Dog: have it.
Take along proof that your best riding buddy's shots are all up to date.
Make sure that your Hotel is Pet-Friendly.

It's not nearly as difficult as we imagined it would be! :D

Hi Spyder_Cowgirl,

Re: Are there are any hurdles or hoops that one might need to overcome if traveling with a pet?

Based upon what my brother tells me ( his wife & he travel with a small dog in their pickup ), the biggest problem is the increased prices for pets in motels. It seems as though it does ad quite a cost to the lodging.

as long as they have a current passport----------lol!!:ohyea:

Friends of mine will be taking their dog with them. Of course you're limited on hotels that will accept pets and then you have the issue of someone needing to be with the dog when you stop for food etc. Who gets to go to the bathroom first, who eats inside and who doesn't?

It is probably a good idea when traveling with your pets to carry proof of immunization and it a health certificate, whether you're leaving the country or not. If you had an emergency and needed to board the dog you'd need the documents.
