• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trip Odo

Okay, newby here. I like to reset trip odometer every time I fill up with fuel. My new-to-me 2009 RS seems to reset both trip odometers without any input from me. I've read the manual and don't see anything about this. What am I missing? To be clear - I want to zero the trip Odo and see how far I've traveled between fuel fill-ups without having the trip meters reset thenselves.

As I see it...

When you hit the mode button you will move through the screens. From "time" you will go to total miles then trip 1 then trip 2 then running time then total hours of engine operating time then back to time. Now, when you are at the trip you want to reset press and hold the mode button till it shows zero. You can then move on and reset trip 2 and the hours of operation...this is the water on my 012 RS. ..

Thanks, I saw that but I still don't understand why my trip odometers reset themselves. I don't think I've ever held the mode button except after a fill up - come to think of it, sometimes it switches itself to hours or another function when I haven't touched any buttons.

Little checking..l

You may have a sticky mode button...:dontknow: shouldn't do that..:banghead::banghead: check both the one on the back of the command left hand and the one on the dash..

Sounds like sticky button. Being an '09 it may have grime, try comparing its response & release(pop back out out) time. Can you manipulate other options with ease?

It will also advance when pushing the mode button to start the bike, so you need to be aware of which mode you are actually in!

Thanks guys - I think it's the mode button on the bars. when I hit the mode button to start I may have held it in too long, resetting the trip.

That could be the cause of the problem. To tell the :ani29: you have read the safety card (:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:) and that it is now alright for the :spyder2: to allow you to start the engine, it only takes a one second or less push.

A three second or more hold on the mode button will start the scrolling action and do other things.

Have not had a RS dash since 2010 so I can't give the particulars. Now, if you had an RT...

you might actually be bumping the mode button on the left grip & not realizing.
