• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In lieu of spending $300+ on a 23" windshield that would still be too tall for me, thanks to what I've read here on SpyderLovers (Tonga and others) I went the Blue masking tape, JigSaw and Sandpaper route.

Living in the boondocks here in NNY I generally ride in the country and so like the wind in my face. I'm 5'11" and knowing what I know now, I would have taken one more inch off for 4-inches total.

I used a Harley batwing fairing's windshield curve for my template because I like it's smooth crescent shape and it helped that it's wider than the RT windshield.

Went very smooth, the taping, marking and setting up a platform took longer than the actual cut and sanding.

Rode an hour this evening and I truly enjoyed the more unobstructed panorama views. With it all the way up, I can sit "at attention" and just see over the edge. I'm not planning on long tours this year so am confident I can scrunch down if I get caught in the rain.

I uploaded an album (link below) with a dozen photos of the journey, unfortunately they didn't come out in order of progression :( Thanks again SpyderLovers!!

May i add one more comment to make an even better job of the final cut to your wind screen,
We use a lot of lexan at work and to finish off the cut edge we use a propane torch to heat the cut edge this will turn the non clear cut that u sanded to a factory clear edge, nice job by the way.
Mike

Thank you guys

Drove it all afternoon and I can honestly say that to me it feels like a new bike all over again

Mike, I may try using the torch if I decide to whack that last inch.
