• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trim Panel in front of Seat

Loving your Spyder is like loving your significant other, you have to accept the imperfections in which it has a few. My heat build up hasn't really been an issue, even with shorts on. I feel heat alright but I really don't rest my leg there so it hasn't really bothered me yet. It seems the Clunking sound heard when shifting into reverse or first after starting it up, is common and not an issue. But the one that does bother me is the trim panel in front of the seat, I guess it's called the Dash. It has a fine stipple graining that mars very easily. I just sat my helmet there and noticed the marring after I put the helmet on. Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone tried a grain repair kit and if so which one. Early models don't have this trim piece I believe. Right now as I think, I'm don't think the RT or RS has this same panel. But I don't own one so I could be wrong. How is your STS trim panel holding up?

You're drawn to somebody because of their strenths; you grow to love them because of their imperfections...
This is a new one that I've not seen in here before...
I doubt that there's any sort of "repair kit" available for this sort of thing. :gaah:
You might just have to replace the part, and chalk it up as the cost of an education... Sorry!

Clean things up with some Turtle Wax ICE detailer or just some Windex Multi-surface with Vinegar (don't use regular Windex with Ammonia). Most of these marks disappear with some careful cleaning.

I'll try the cleaner that's cheap. Armor All made it look better but it dried out eventually. But the stipple grain (fine little "bumps") are added to the plastic part to give it a look and feel. Once the tops of the "bumps" are damaged they're there for good and a grain pad repair kit needs to be used, normally. Even if I found a kit I'm not sure I could do it but finding one would be good. I'm afraid replacing the part with the same will just lead to future issues down the road, no pun intended. That's a very vulnerable area, getting on and off the machine, it's going to get marred, the fine grain was a pour choice. I did find some actual carbon-fiber panels pre cut to cover the dash. I'm looking into that as a possible solution also. Thanks for the ideas.

I'm not sure what a "CF" trim is but have you considered a wrap? Power Sports Wraps made dash wraps for the other models and probably also has them for the ST.

Yes SpyderAnn01, by "CF" I meant carbon fiber. Right, CF wraps are available from Power Sports Wraps for the ST.
