• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trike Order Status

Is it normal to put down a deposit on a spyder and not be able to get a delivery status? I put down a deposit on 3/22/14 for a 2014 RT-S SE6 and was told that they would have it at the end of the month. I have checked back with them a couple of times and was told that all they knew was that they were getting one but could tell me when. Is it normal for BRP not to keep dealers informed on shipping status or is my dealer blowing smoke? I can be patient (even though now that I have pulled the trigger I would love to have it in my garage) but the last time I spoke to them they said "It could be today or anytime in the next three weeks"

At Valcort QE home of BRP, they use a flex assembly line . A Spyder here a Skidoo there maybe a Seedoo after that and then 4 ATVs. All depends on how the orders come in .Waited 5 months for mine.

Dealers are usually notified when a shipment leaves the factory, or maybe a day or two before (or after). They may have a general idea of when to expect their orders before that, but nothing definite. If you ask me, it's a heck of a way to run a railroad. You'd think that in this information age they could do much better. I don't have reason to think your dealer is blowing smoke, but some have played games with their orders.

I ordered my RT in late January and was informed 2 weeks ago that I would have it in June SOMETIME. Could be the beginning or the end. They couldn't tell me. $2000 deposit. There are a couple units coming in earlier that are not sold but a fair amount more coin then the one I ordered.

I ordered in October and took delivery in March…somewhat of a black hole…good news…well worth the wait.

Welcome to the "I'm ticked off about the information on my ordered Spyder" Club. This is definitely a situation that needs some improvement. I have waited 7 months (twice now) with a deposit put down.

My dealer does not have a due in day for the :spyder2:'s he has on order. When I talked with him a couple weeks ago, he had not heard anything about his shipment at that time.

I ranted about this in a thread yesterday--so will not repeat here. :roflblack:

Delivery

Thanks for all the replies. Seeing all the wait times I see that it is a matter of perspective. About the time I decided to do it they announced the 2014's but with no details. Decided to wait, glad I did after hearing from the new owners but still would like to be riding just the same.

I ordered and put a deposit on a new 2014 Limited in October and have no bike yet. Dealer called me yesterday and the factory told him it will be delivered this Friday and I can pick it up next week. My dealer has been keeping me informed but it is now 6 months later. I can't wait till next week and drive it home.

We ordered our RT-S early January for initially mid April delivery. However it turned up late March so that was a nice surprise.....

My dealer had several in stock, and when I put down a deposit he gave me the Vin numbers. That was March 18 and I am waiting for the Corbin seat to arrive and be installed. Otherwise I would have it in my garage.. Can't ride it yet here in Michigan but it would still feel good to sit on it in the grarge!

The dealer has the ability to go onto his computer and check the status of all BRP items that are being shipped to them based on the orders that the dealer submitted to BRP. If the dealer is Pro-active in checking the Order Web page for his dealership he will see the order popup and the expected ship date. It's not rocket science just requires one to exercise there fingers on a keyboard.
