• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. TricLED Fenderz with safety reflecter install??

Who has installed the fender light kit?????? The instructions are sketchy IMHO. Any help is appreciated. Maybe a You Tube link??

Lew L

Never mind------- I found a video from Sling mods for the install.

Soooo ------ is the Slingmods kit the same as the TricLED kit?????
They do look the same though.

It is a pretty straight forward task. I did the TRICLED. Once you remove the wheels you can access all the screws an be done in 30 mins to and hour.

Does yours have the two wire small red connectors on them? The installation is pretty easy. Remove the old fender reflectors, install the new lights and plug in the connectors.

FYI- The two wire red connectors if on your kit are not the best and can come loose.

The video says to tape them as well as using di-electric grease. I may use shrink tube instead.

Lew,

I am not sure of the brand names, but several friends of mine have bought cheaper kits from other manufactures. I bought the TricLED ones. I can tell you that ONLY the tricLED ones show up in sunlight.

So, I guess it depends on what you are wanting them for. night riding, or everyday riding.

Hi,

I did buy the up graded TricLED lights and I think Sling mods is a TricLed subsidiary . I have to warm the garage some---- 12* F here last night, Major hi-way closed for 12 hours, Big storm coming. Prediction is for 3 ' ( feet) :yikes:at the tops of the local mountains, 2+ feet at my local ski resort, and a foot at my elevation. Glad I have 2 snow blowers as one broke both auger drive belts in the last storm ( buried hard pine cone :cus:) Surprised Amazon had the belts at 1/4 the price.

UPDATE--------- Hi Ray------ Funny how my old brain works, five minutes after I made this post I remembered you first name.:banghead: Are you still considering the Stage 1 ECU upgrade???

Holy crap these things BRIGHT :yikes::yikes: Install was straight forward--- just have to put some tupperware back on.

Should have known ---- there're from TricLED

This is just me but I got the stage 2 ECU upgrade. My opinion it is worth it. Yes, costs more but 10 HP more makes the Spyder RT much more responsive to throttle. Reminds me of my 2 wheel BMW rides. Just sayin

Hey Lew,
like you, winter is here, although no snow yet. But -18c here.
Yes, I will be sending away my ICU in Jan, going to get through christmas first, but absolutely going to do it.

Yes the lights are bright, but thats why we buy em, right??

They may be bright BUT ---- the left side has failed. Checked all the connections. It doesn't light up during normal operation and when signaling the lights only go half way up / around in hyperflash. I think the integrated circuit has failed.

Hopefully TricLED will make it right as these lights seemed like a quality product.

I installed two sets of those lights and one light had a couple of dead bulbs in it, so I contacted TricLed and they sent me a replacement set right a way. Very good to work with.

Sorry to hear that Lew, I am sure TrickLED will replace. They did for me when one of the A-arm LEDs failed. Let us know.......

Thanks----

Thanks for the encouragement Ray, I hate it when things break and want to fix them " right now". I'm sure TricLED will make things right. Nova and I had a great ryde yesterday. Went up to Gold lake in Cal. No services yet--- didn't need any. BUT--- Did hit a BIG pothole in Truckee, CA. gas station. Glad I stiffened the rear spring but it still bottomed out --- bothering Nova greatly. Made it home to Reno just fine but I'm diving in to that rear suspension for a good look today.

let me know how things turn out.

Ray,
I was contacted by Reggy at TricLED and he is sending the large arch, hopefully it has the integrated circuit that controls the sequential lights. The small red one had a problem also.

What was funny though----- he first had me hold down the emergency flasher for 30 sec. with the key on. It did help but the running light was still off , so he is sending that part. Hopefully it will solve the problem. We will see.

BTW: How do you like the ECU flash???

Lew L

The flash is fun when you hit 4000 rpm. I haven't tried it yet with the trailer and 2 up, which is the real reason I got it done.

We have had to cancel all our trips this year, so some time off at the end of July, don't know what we are doing with it, but I doubt the boarder will be open, so not going south. Might try to head up to Alaska, even if we can't get through the border..... I'll let you know

ALL FIXED thanks to TricLED.

Well the malfunctioning Fenderz lights ( which I think are GREAT ) are now fixed thanks to the prompt service of Reggy and Cindy at TricLED. A wire connector failed and when I replaced it --- all GOOD.

Next are new Brake pads---- any suggestions???
