• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TricLED Directionals Blink Fast - Problem?

Because I'm not a DIYer, I had my dealer install TricLED's directional indicators on my 2016 F3T (the ones that mount to the inside of the mirror). It was the dealer's first time installing these.

Now, I notice that my blinkers blink at a much faster rate than before I had these installed. Is that how it's supposed to work, or is there a problem? If it's a problem, how serious is it (ie - Will it do some kind of damage down the road, or can I leave it as is)?

FWIW, I've e-mailed TricLED, but no response yet, so thought that I'd ask here.

Thanks!

I had the same thing when I installed the fender lights . They have a simple process you need to do as you are sitting on the spyder. They will give you the information. You will not hurt the spyder. I can't remember the steps needed.

I mounted those on my RT and didn't have the problem you describe.

Your dealer's service department installed them? What do they say? Is your bike still under warranty?

I had hyperflash, tried the Lamont fix, would only work till I turned off the bike. Next start-up, it came back. Put in the resistors, and never had a problem again. Even added more turn signals, with no issues.

On Facebook, they were having this discussion and James Thorne explained that Hyperflash is an Error code (on BUDS) and needs to be dealt with or it will cause problems. He explained further but I can not remember exactly his reasoning. I did the procedure in the video and it worked for me.

FWIW - I followed the procedure in the video and it did not work. For some reason, I re-did the procedure with my engine on (because the lights only hyper-flashed when the engine was on), and then it worked.

I thought this might help others who are trying this procedure.

I added a pair of horns (GL1800 hi & lo) but, when I beeped them for some reason the USB stopped working momentarily then resumed at song #1 on my Gen 5 nano then proceeded to play the rest alphabetically. That is the same thing that would happen if I used the trick of turning off the key then turning it back on immediately to play the radio with nothing else being on. I used the method detailed for the hyper-flash fix but instead of switching on the blinker once, I beeped my horn once. It worked!

Here's how I added the horns with the added bonus of 20 seconds of strobe lights.... >CLICK ME<

Here are the instructions from TricLED.

Please follow these simple steps:
1. Turn key on
2. Press and hold the hazard button for 30 seconds
3. The cluster lights will flash confirming the calibration has been successful."

I had the same problem when I installed them on my 2017 RTS. I followed the above procedure and the problem went away.

Hope this helps.

hyperflash reset

2017 f3t, with added brp rear trunk and led lights from lamonster (tricleds), work done by dealer. I had to do reset a few times but it took and no problems anymore. sorry can't remember if bike was running or not but think it was. best of luck.

Lamonster has different steps than tricled below to reset on an rt and worked on my f3t. also has a youtube video to follow.
