• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The only thing I'm aware of are results photos. As I recall, the installation instructions that comes with all that you mentioned are really well documented and that should work well for you. I did see one video, come to think of it, on installing this--- http://www.kewlmetalstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=633 . You may want to look at my page on all of the light mods I've done. You might get some good ideas, and if nothing else build your confidence that most anyone can do it!!

I kind of thought that the instructions that came with them pretty much covered the installation pretty well...
Maybe you should give him a call if you've got any questions.
Good Luck and we can't wait to see your results!

Install Inst.

Thanks Phil and BOB. I downloaded several PDF instructions from the website where I ordered them from. I also wondered how properly jack the bike and where to set the jack stands. Thanks

Now I am absolutely NOT an expert wrench here... :opps:
But it seems to me that those items could pretty much be nailed in place without jacking the bike up.
The mudflaps can always be removed for installation; as can the GIVIs...
Let us know how your project looks!

If Positaps were not supplied, you can still splice the connector in your picture on the cardboard into the existing harness. I'm guessing the instructions show the wire colors that go together? Doing the actual splice IS easier with the Positaps, but you can still do it by doing these steps...

1. Carefully separate out the harness wire that you want to deal with. The one in your hand.
2. Carefully skin back some of the insulation, about 1/8" on one wire.
3. Wrap a little of the matching wire from the new connector around the bare spot from step 2.
4. IF you happen to know how to solder, solder that connection so it is strong. If not, next best thing... Make sure it is wrapped REALLY tight on the subject harness wire.
5. Using about 4" of black electrical tape, TIGHTLY wrap the connection around the bare wires like your life depends on it!
6. After you do this for all needed wires, LIGHTLY wrap black tape around all of your work. Step 5 is to keep the connection stable and waterproof and electrically sound. This step is just to keep the overall work stable.

Hope that helps.

If the posi-taps were not included, you have only a few choices. Buy some form a local suplier (some NAPA stores carry them), buy some mail order, or phone ESI where you purchased them and have them make it right. I'd phone Evan at ESI first, but you may prefer another option.

What is the relationship between Custom Dynamics and ESI? They seem to sell the exact same products.
ESI originally developed, produced, and sold the products. Evan then sold to Custom Dynamics, so he could concentrate on the development aspect. He retained the rights to market the products to SpyderLovers because he loves us. Same fine products...two fine vendors.

Got it figured out, the guy at ESI told me that the 2012 RS reguires the RT Fender Tips Kit. Thanks everyone for the tips. Got my Givi lights working.
