• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tri Axis handlebars

Would one of you tri-axis owners also please confirm that in order to switch to the tri-axis on a 2015 RT-Limited, I would also have to purchase the tri-axis gps mount? It seems crazy to me that the stock gps mount would not fit.
If you look close at the pics of the two you will see the difference in bolt patterns of the two. The stock bolt pattern one won't fit the Tri-Axis. There are other options. Check what the various vendors have.

The stock mount will not fit the TRIAXIS BARS you will have to buy the correct mount..

If you plan on adjusting the Tri-axis bars up and down, remember, there is a pair of jam nuts under the rubber boot that need to be loosened to do the adjustment. The boot is held on with torx screws, 4 I believe.

Nope. Not so. You simply turn the hard to turn screw from topside. It's under the rubber cover.

Do not loosen those jamb nuts. The are intended to keep tension on the bolt and keep it from working loose. You can adjust height without messing with the boot or those jamb nuts. You do have to loosen the two chrome hex bolts at the top to move the bars fore and aft, then retighten them both.

The tool to adjust both directions is included with the bars. Its an oversized hex key.

Turning the nut under the rubber to raise or lower is a real bear, almost need a ratchet wrench and I'm a strong guy, am I doing it wrong?

The wrench that comes with the bars is adequate to raise and lower the bars and I have normal strength forearms and hands. JMO.

Just telling you what the shop deal shop Forman told me how to adjust the up/down. Loosen them, make the adjustment that retighten the jam nuts and it won't move.

Do it however you prefer and I'll do it this way.

From the Tri-Axis installation instructions.

Installing tri axis

I was quoted 3.75 hours for install. My dealers hourly rate is $120.00 per hour. This is in Canada. Not considering the exchange rate, your price sounds reasonable to me.

Had mine swapped from my 13 rts to my 14rts along with the bajaron sway bar and links for 300. I'm 6'2" my bars are full up and full out moto x style.

I had the dealer put the tri-axis bar on yesterday. I was able to purchase through the dealer the carbon black bars for $559.

There is some confusion on this thread regarding the height adjustment. Will loosen the jam nut underneath allow for raising the bars more?

You do not loosen the jam nut PERIOD. I saw someone say that. The instructions are pretty clear.
Just use the tool provided and that is all you need. But yes the height adjustment is tight and for a reason. You do not want it moving due to vibration thus the purpose of the jam nut system.
Oh and it's not really a jam nut. It's 2 nuts and washers to keep the bolt tight to turn. More like a slip clutch thing.

Thanks Bob for clearing that up. I did adjust the bars after they were installed. There isn't much of a height increase as I would have preferred but they are more comfortable.

We need to take another look at the configuration but I think the jam nuts are there to keep the bolt snug against the handlebar body. The double nut is needed to keep a single nut from turning on the bolt when it being turned for adjustment when it rubs against either the handlebar body or the cross bar. I'm thinking the bolt is made to turn tight in the cross bar but it may be the nut is snug tight against the handlebar as you say. In either case if KJWEB wanted to experiment with a capture nut and spring washer he might be able to replace the double jam nut and get more thread space.
