• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Travel time for Spyderfest?

I have a 2014 RT that is 26 months old and I have put 72,000 miles on it, it has been the most awesome machine. Last summer we had 10 Spyders ride to Alaska with no one being stranded. I have crossed the country more times on it than I can count.

What Ann said. I was on that Alaska trip. Get out there and go whereever you want with it. If you're leery of going long distances, travel with a group, like many the folks going to Spyderfest.

But I'm wondering what "all the problems" you're reading about.

(We've got guys along who haven't piled serious mileage up. It made sense to break it down a bit...)
Some of us will be returning home along the "Northern Route" (I-44 to I-70)

Know a few of the above posters, and yes they are riding their Spyders. If you're leery of making the trek and maybe being left of the side of the road, join up with a group riding from your area. It's a good way to make new friends.

There'll be people trailering too. Some are RVing, others can't make that long of a ride, but want to join in the fun.

It doesn't matter how you get to Spyderfest, it's that you get there. :clap:

My 1600 miles each way will be on my 2014 RTS that has only a little over 1300 miles on it yet. I bought it with 654 miles on it this past winter. Ryding the Spyder pulling my "tent on a trailer" is why I'm taking 5 days. I just can't do as many miles a day on the Spyder as I can in a car or pickup!

The problems you've been reading about with the 2014 and newer are the exception. Earlier years had more problems but BRP is making great progress on reliability. The Spyder may not yet rival the GW for reliability, but it's getting there!

We are leaving Wed. Night 9pm Google says 690mi if we avoid highway and tolls. Just got the bike 2 1/2 weeks ago and still breaking it in 2015 rt-s. We have 450 miles on it now so don't want to burn it in at 75 / 80 mph for 11 hours. Long way gets us there in just over 13 hours. Plan to drive gas up to gas up non stop. Hope to pull in before lunch Thur.

Seriously, if you'd like some riding partners, you found your group. Just pm me I'll shoot you our itinerary and if it works, welcome aboard! We have a big mix of first timers, and seasoned veterans so it will be a nice ride.

The 2000 miles to get to Spyderfest. I also ryde a 2014 RT...now have 38k .. absolutely no issues. What "issues" are you fearful of happening? Don't know of any vehicle, 2. 3 or 4 wheel that you can't find a problem with...not all but a few models of everything have had issues. Make sure you have a good roadside. TP and go for it!!!:thumbup:
 
We are planning on driving straight through to Spyderfest. We are not stopping for fuel, food, restroom breaks or rest stops...straight through.
It's a pretty straight shot of about 5 miles....depending upon traffic...it could take as long as 10 minutes but as always...the journey is more important than the destination! See you all at SpyderFest!
