There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Travel cover

New owner. I like to cover my ride at night when I am on the road so I ordered a cover when I bought my RT. The thing is big, heavy and cumbercome. Any suggestions as to what I might get? I haven't talked to my dealer so maybe the answer is simple. Anyway, any help will be welcomed. Doug

I use an inexpensive cover sold by Formosa covers, from either Ebay or Amazon (don't recall which). It's their largest size and easily covers everything except the front wheels, but packs into a fairly small pouch. It only cost something like $30 - 40 dollars and works well as long as it doesn't matter if the wheels are exposed.

Love mine

I use the BRP travel cover every night while traveling Light weight stuffs in own attached sack only takes a small portion of back trunk on my RT..handles all weather great..

I have the 2012 RT-LE it came with the travel cover, when I saw it I thought holy cow thats huge, it takes up the whole case inside the left rear pannier.

Then I saw the link above (shamelessly stole the pictures), I thought ok I must have the intermediate cover, so I thought no problem I will just order the travel one.

But I thought I would take the cover out and try first, well blow me over, I do have the travel cover, it packs so huge :yikes:, it looks tiny in these pictures. I swear my packed cover looks like the larger one.

Are there two travel covers, one that packs really small???

I just wanted something to cover the seat and windshield so went to Menards and bought a large size B motorcyle cover for $16.99. It Has a pouch to fit it back into as well. Works fine.

Thanks for the responses

I too have learned from them. I went to the dealer today and lo and behold they brought up on the screen a touring cover. Just what the doctor ordered. This thread is good for me in a couple of ways so thanks a lot. Doug

There are actually three different covers, although I am not sure if the Outdoor Cover that came with the 2010 RTS is available anymore. That cover packed to about 16"x 16". The Travel Cover packs to about 10"x12". The Custom Cover is even larger, but I don't know the exact pack size...I'd estimate 24"x24" or so. I believe the 2012 LTD comes with the smallest, the Travel Cover.

Scotty mine is the 10" around x 12" packed..came with my 2010RTSE5..

I have the same BRP full-cover (not cheap) and it is a complete hassle to put on. I will only use that for winter storage now.

I have the BRP half-cover which is much smaller and easier to put on; however it only covers the trunk, seat, console, and windshield. The rest is exposed. I suppose that doesn't bother me much, as I mostly just want to make sure the areas it does cover are protected.

I would like to find a full-size water resistant cover that fits it though...

Interesting to know. That is what was advertised with the 2010 RTS, but the early ones were deivered with the Outdoor Cover. I had to buy the smaller cover. The 2011 RTS no longer included the cover.

My 2010 RTS came with the outdoor cover minus the wheel and fender covers. I bought the BRP outdoor cover so that the whole trike is covered when not being used as mine sits outside. Both instruction sheets are identical.

My 2010 RT S came with a travel cover but it is still big. It doesn't cover the wheels but does everything else. I have only used it once i think. I have a regular touring motorcycle cover that works very well and covers everything but the front tires. also a little duct tape has helped form fit the cover. I am mainly concerned about prying eyes at motels etc. so the cover takes care of that. don't have to worry bout a kid climbing on and also people gathering outside your motel room and talking about the spyder. I will try and post s picture or two of the cheapo cover on the spyder. this thing roles up into a small pouch.

That is not the travel cover, it was mistakenly advertised as the travel cover. It is really the Outdoor Cover. The travel cover covers only the seat, rear trunk, and windshield. It is much smaller.

I use a BRP travel cover... It was thrown in as part of the deal when I purchased our :spyder2: along with a free helmet and 1/2 off on 3 others for the family. The cover is easy to put on and pack when needed.
