• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

for those of you who have gone from sms to ses transmissions, which do you like the best, and prefer. Explain please. Thanks

:ani29:: There are still many that like to be in control and want to shift by themselves. SM5 or SM6. This option will save you around $1,500.

:ani29:" SE5 or SE6. These have pretty much been perfected. No real mechanical issues in 100,000 miles. I had a linkage come loose one time. Easy fix.

:ani29:: Operation is as quick as the manual. No roll off on the throttle--the computer does the job. Downshift is automatic but the driver can override. The SE5's are a little bit klunky on the downshift. The SE6's are smoother. I manually downshift the 5 and let the 6 do the work.

:ani29:: No noticeable difference in operation or gas mileage.

:ani29:: I had one M on my 2008. All the rest have been the SE. I do not miss using the clutch.

Don't know..!!

about the se...never driven one. I am a die hard manual for many reasons. Can't help on the comparison...

I had the SM5 and Now have the SE6
I do not miss holding the clutch lever for long stop lights
I find I can control the SE6 just as well as the SM5
Will not go back
The SM and the SE use the same clutch
The only difference is on the SE the clutch is electronically activated by the computer when you push the **** lever

This is like asking, "Do you prefer Blondes, or Redheads?" :dontknow:

Everybody knows that the correct answer is, "YES!!" :D

I disagree with you Bob. The SE is more like a black girl because " once you've had black you'll never go back. Same with going bact to the manual after having the auto.
