• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TRANSMISSION FILTER QUESTION

I will be changing the transmission filter on my F3-S soon and have a tool question. The outside cover has three screws holding it on. Two are on top and one on the bottom. It seems that a 6 mm allen or a T40 torx will both fit the screws. But I don’t want to strip anything. Which one would be better?

Use the right one.

If it's a Torx, use a Torx, if it's an Allen, use an Allen. They are not meant to be interchangeable.

Torx or Allen?

Well, I’m confused. It’s either one or the other. Who has changed one out and which did you use?

If it's a Torx, use a Torx, if it's an Allen, use an Allen. They are not meant to be interchangeable.

Very good advise. While either tool may SEEM to work. This is many times the reason we hear so much about 'Stripped' drain plug bolts.

On smaller size Torx/Allen head bolts it may be more difficult to tell. Especially with drain plugs since they are more difficult to get a good look at. The tool seems to fit and will begin to turn. But then slip and start the process of destroying the tool hole in the bolt head.
